Soulcalibur IV online play confirmed photo

In an effort to pimp the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, 1UP has confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fighter, Soulcalibur IV, will include online play. Three words: it's about time.

"What's changed this time round is that the next-gen platforms have network infrastructure already in place," says Soulcalibur IV Director Katsutoshi Sasaki. "We've heard from fans that they really want the game to be online, so we figured that, with the current environment, we really couldn't make SC4 without online play."

This is great news for fans of fighters who have their furniture wrapped in plastic and don't like to let people into their house. The create-a-fighter that was introduced in Soul Calibur III will be making a return, and the team is looking to allow players to bring their creations online ... they're just unsure as to whether or not players will be able to trade created fighters.

One thing I just noticed is the title of the game -- Soulcalibur IV. That may or may not be a typo; 1UP refers to it as such nearly every time it's referenced on their site. Spaces, perhaps, are so last-gen.

The latest issue of EGM contains a 14-page Soulcalibur IV spread, and 1UP are claiming it's on the newsstands now. Why on Earth my copy hasn't arrived in the mail is beyond me, but you can bet your ass that I'm tackling my mailman tomorrow.

I think I would be afraid to fight if I was female and had a chest that big. I'd probably fall over every time I swung a sword. Weight distribution ftl...

Ivy doesn't just have any sword, she has a Snake Sword which transforms into a blade whip. This weapon was created in the 1970's around the same time as silicon implants, as it is idea for fending off pimps and rival hoes while maintaining perfect balance.

By the way, Namco, welcome to fucking 2003.

You know the thing about Ivy?? She's got the man tool. Just like Bridget. That's why her bewbs are so big, so you look at them instead of the huge man meat she's packing downstairs. Its true. I know a guy who went to college with her/him.

When a game has characters with big boobs and sex appeal it essentially doubles its fanbase. So, consider me on board, even though I think Soul Calibur otherwise sucks.

Outstanding! I have been proven wrong.
I silently and happily bite my tongue on this issue.

*crawls out of the woodwork*

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that That "SoulCalibur" doesn't really have a space inbetween words, in fact, it technically hasn't since the first one on DC..as the title refers to the sword.

In every single game, every time the sword is mentioned, it's done without a space. It's people who've been putting the space in the title for the past 7 years.

I was kinda surprised by that when I first found out, but looking back, it's right there on the box art for every game. It's more open to debate whether the "C" in Calibur should be capitalized or not.

I hate big boob fighting games. First off, the fighter genre is stale. STALE, I tell you! Gameplay hasn't really changed all that much, and while I do l like a little SoulCalibre every once in a while, I really hate all the prepubescent gurgling that accompanies any post about digital girls with big digital boobs. Why not just go join the Itagaki fan club and fap to DOAX.

I dunno, I guess I feel like if digital boobs do it for you, you clearly don't have enough time with the real thing.
