Soul burn on the go: New Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny art photo

Soul burn sounds like something you'd have to take a pill for, but it's a good thing. Trust me on this. I've played a bit of Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny already, and I think it has to be one of the best examples of how to do a fighter on-the-go. First off, it's gorgeous for a portable fighter. And the control is spot-on. It's just a really impressive package, and I'm looking forward to getting my own copy when it releases for PSP on September 1st.

Today, as kind of a week-before tease, Namco Bandai sends us some new screenshots from the game. Dampierre looks like a child predator in these images. I think he'll be my favorite character. Also sent along were some official art pieces from the game. These clean character renders are tempting me to do something sillly in Photoshop. You can check out both the art and new screens in the gallery below.

What about you? Are you looking to get Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny? I hope there's a digital download option for the upcoming PSPgo.

Oooooh, first?! You're original.

Soul Calibur is for winners, but Soul Calibur ANYWHERE is fucking sweet!

You know, despite spending so much time on the 'toid this one had completely slipped my radar. I'm pretty stoked about it now though, maybe just mabe make me actually remove Monster Hunter Freedom unite from my UMD drive.

Maybe

Dale, I think it's so cute how you're the only open supporter for the PSP Go. If I had the money, I'd be right there with you!

Great, more Soul Calibur, just what we need, more uninspired clunky fighting games that feel dated with fugly character designs. Sorry, not a fan of the franchise.

its uninspired? i believe its inspired by weapons. and Kratos.

Loved Blade, loved Cali, ADORED Cali II, disappointed with III, straight burned by IV.

Hopefully this title bucks the declining trend.

The OLD character designs are fine. The problem is, they haven't been able to make any good NEW Characters for this game.

That stupid guy with the hidden arm-blades has pretty much the exact same weapon as Voldo.

There are a dozen other awesome weapons and styles they could use in the game but, to be honest, the Soul Calibur team is pretty dumb and full of themselves. Unlike the more successful fighting franchises out there, they never listen to the fans.

STOP WITH THE STUPID CHARACTERS! How about some double hook swords, Team Soul?
