Sorry PS3 owners, Calling all Cars will not be out today photo

It's being reported across various places, but unfortunately David Jaffe's Callling all Cars for the PlayStation 3 is not going to be available today for the PlayStation Network -- it's now slated to come out May 3. Real bummer too. I was really, really looking forward to this title. After playing it and destroying Niero head-to-head at GDC, this game has been on my hot list. Here's the word from Jaffe himself:

Game is NOT OUT TOMORROW. It is out May 3rd. I am very sorry about this but we're still in format, chasing a few bugs and we don't want the game out until it's bug free. But it WILL be out 5/3! I will let you guys know when it clears format.

Sony doomed, they may as well get out of the hardware business now.

I've heard this game described as NBA Jam with cars, sounds like a blast. Maybe someday I'll actually be able to afford a PS3.

i'll pass on the saying which is better cause most likely you haven't played either even with teh one being out for years now ...

also kidna dumb to try to head to head two different types of games... also with multiplayer in cars that could be advantage of win... or if you want to compare just on the small arcade game basis then...

in the end calling all cars should compare well to the best of live arcades offerings.

Sad. I really wanted to play it today but I can wait. The IGN review is good.

it's sad when the most compelling reason to own a system is a downloadable game.

@JamesSorensen
I believe most people will agree the Geometry Wars is considered one of the best games that XBLA offers. So if Calling All Cars compares to the best XBLA has to offer as you say, it shouldn't be dumb to compare the two. That being said the correct answer is Geometry Wars. I'm sure Calling all cars is fun but it would have no where near as much press pre-launch if "the God of War guy" hadn't made it. Honestly it looks like a Burger Kings Big Bumpin' but cell shaded.

It should be a nice title for people that already invested in a PS3; hope it's good.

"But... ps3 doesn't have geometry wars."

Nope but they have BLAST FACTOR! *grin*

I thought it was fun at least. Although I can only play it for an hour or two at a time, same with Geo wars, after a while I just get even more retarded than usual.
