Hey guys, let's talk about the Team ICO Collection some more! Despite listings that say the game is definitely coming, and rumors aplenty, Sony has remained coy on the subject, with Sony Worldwide Studios VP Shuhei Yoshida claiming that he "wants" to see an HD Team ICO game, but won't confirm it's a real thing.
"We want to see them played in HD in a better frame rate as well. That's something we're very, very aware of," he claims. "I hope that when they see the Sly Cooper Collection it will be another good example of what we can do with the old classic games."
I, for one, am really looking forward to the Sly Cooper Collection and I will probably snap up anything that might come from this HD Classic line. I wouldn't be surprised if games like this turn out to be the PS3's biggest sellers, and we can all stroke our philosopher's beards at the irony of PS2 games proving to be the PS3's ace in the hole.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The only thing I don't like about this is that the more successful these collections are, the less the chance of a software based PS2 emulator released for the PS3. I want both.
Myself included. My wallet will be as culpable as anyone's, with some of these rumored collections.
And i won't be surprised if PS2 games will outsell PS3 ones. People are tired of "realistic" games current-gen has in tons
Where is Last Guardian!?!?!?!
Where is Last Guardian!?!?!?!
If you do that then PS3 just becomes PS2HD or PS2.5.
It only HD's everything
Jim's right, the PS2 is Sony's savior.
I will buy Ico and SotC as well so just DO IT.
While I'm also looking forward to a Team ICO collection, I can't help but feel that Sony is relying on their PS2 classics to start selling PS3's.
----------------------
Seriously guys, it's like we think all Sony cares about is "selling PS3's" - from what i've seen recently it's not so much the case, it seems Sony is currently having a push to make the current PS3's userbase's experience better.
HD Classics - not going to "sell systems" but will be sweet for those of us who already have PS3's.
Move - Clearly aimed at current PS3 owners rather than trying to grab the "casual" market.
Firmware updates (Facebook etc) - Never going to sell systems, but nice to have.
As a PS3 owner, I'm thrilled by all the new additions aimed directly at my face, rather than diluting my experience to make it appeal to more potential users.
I don't get what you mean, they have been creating new classics, they have been churning out first party games like its nobodys business.
If anything nintendo and microsoft have been relying on their old properties Far to much. I love the nintendo standbys, but their long overdue for a new character, and MS's whole image is basically built on halo. Gears and crackdown were nice, but Ms definitly has some empty roster to fill out.
Sony this gen was responsible for the grand majority of new faces. Resistance, infamous, killzone(though that's technically started last gen), white knight chronicles,MAG, a lot of original Ips came from them this gen.
Enough said.. Lolz.. :p
or onimusha 4 god damit
Agreed. HD Onimusha Collection (all four games) now pls!
sorry jim, you need a beard to do that
i can however stroke my beard to my hearts content
Also, Shin Megami Tensei collection. I would throw up all over the place if that happened.
t'would be the ultimate, SMT3, DDS1/2, P3/4, DS1/2...hmm maybe 2 BD set?
Are you serious? Who said the best thing on ps3 are these remakes? What about the critically-acclaimed Uncharted games, or the From Software games: Demon's Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes? I'm pretty sure people see these remakes as a nice addition to the ps3 library and an excuse to replay these games again.
Sony, please, "Make it so."
