isn't station.com Sony's online portal for their PC games like the PC version of Free Realms? (and Everquest)?
It is, similar to playOnline for squeenix. Basically theres going to be a few peed off EQ1, EQ2, Planetside, Vanguard players.
I hope this time they can fix it quick AND inform the consumers faster. Also, I hope the hacker(s) responsible die a slowly, painful, hilarious death.

It sounds more like "while we were investigating the PSN intrusion, we discovered a flaw in Station.com and are taking it down for repairs as well"

Probably learned something in dealing with PSN and decided it was best to prevent problems if they could beforehand.
Station also handles Sony's FB games, so Dungeon Overlord (that I started playing on Destructoid's recommendation) is down, too! Dammit, Janet!
