So sony doesn't even know what the reason is? What do you all think could be the cause? Instead of saying WAH NO ONLINEZ or I don't use my ps3 anyways. Maybe we could be talking about potential causes.

Thank God I rented the 360 version of Portal 2 in addition to buying the PS3 version.

@mrandy I never participate in betas:p I like to be surprised when I start the game up:) but ill probably play uncharted 3 more then gears 3 anyways

... and whether Anonymous is to blame or not, they'll still catch the blame and they've pretty much accomplished the opposite of what they want to accomplish. Less and less am I supporting a free and "anonymous" internet, and more and more I'm leaning towards legislation that allows companies to press charges and get IP address of those that would disrupt the "freedom" of the internet through things like DDoS attacks, so that companies can recover lost profits (and I wonder if gamers could claim costs for "pain and suffering!")

When online goes out you literally cant play half your game. So glad portal decided to go the coop route. This is the future.

NICE! Glad I havent even turned my PS3 on since, uh.... Uncharted 2 came out.... Damn, Infamous 2 Uncharted 3 and The Last Guardian & Twisted Metal are the only reason I've still got my PS3. Sony needs to get with it.
I would complain, but I have a pc lol that doesn't rely on a single network to play all my games on lol.

However, for them to give that kind of time-frame, then something major must have happened, and if so, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until I know what it is. Of course, I also have a computer, so losing online on a gaming device for a short period is no big deal.
Whenever things like this happen, though, it always highlights the worst of the gaming community, and why exactly fanboys are so fail. Anyone who takes a negative event like this as an opportunity to brag or mock is shading toward pathetic, and represents the ugly, immature side of our hobby. I'll always defend gaming against those who say it leads to murder or rape, but when someone points to fanboys, there really isn't much I can do besides shrug in embarrassment.

The last month has been absolutely hilarious, watching sony's true incompentent side show its face is just....great! I have a PS3 but since i never turn it on because my xbox and PC are superior this doesnt affect me, hopefully everyone else with a PS3 was smart enought to realize they needed a backup console
