Wait, what?
WHAT?
You mean to say Vita WON'T have Pony Riding School Vita?
Aww, fudge this, man... Imma go get a 3DS and Nintendogs.
I don't get why the Vita is hailed as the messiah of the dedicated gaming handhelds, when it is still trying to be more than that. I don't want a fucking mobile media hub, I want to play games.
Indeed. Just hope you don't get caught up in any fanboy wars. They're all the rage around here.
with a high-end, $250 device Apple’s current technology can’t match. and high end AAA games form well known devs as well as cheap casual games.
I see, but I'm sure every gamer knows that Sony has been a dominating force now with the PS3 price cut and its AAA exclusives like Uncharted 3( I can't wait!!). But I don't want to offend people either because we are all gamers.
@Thunder Monti
Thank you. :)
I don't know if they can do that....I don't know if innovation is enough. Maybe it is and all the new ideas will propel the vita, but i don't expect it.
Why does Monti say most user's first Language is not English...
...While he doesn't even use it himself!
*Sarcastic Gasp*
Err... is that even true?
Because the only people I have heard saying that are ether:
a) People who make games for smartphones, or
b) game journalists who believe them.
I don't think theres a universal sentiment that portable game systems are on the way out, and sales don't seem to support this idea ether.
One of the true break away parts for the PS Vita will be social sides. The association with social gaming has been reserved for Zynga and big FPS titles on XBL but, the PS Vita has the potential to turn around that perception of the market. The new Social apps (Near, Party, Messages, LiveArea, etc) all offer gamers interactive, social and, commerce based modules for people to take advantage of.
We shall see how it all goes. SCEA has to announced the launch date for the PS Vita before anything can be tested. Plus, I should keep things in check. I like to follow and comment on many things related to the PS Vita but, anytime there is perceived build up and fabrication related to the device, it takes away some surprise and magic when the proverbial truth hits and the PS Vita is actually in the palms of a consumer.
Good luck with that. I'll wait for the inevitable remastered combo packs on BlueRay ports for the PS3.
Fixed that because quite honestly I've heard this pretty much entirely from gaming sites and very little of it anywhere else.
That's not to say it's not impossible, but according to current trends and technologies, it's not the case. Whether this will change in the future remains to be seen.
Possibilities:
Persistence of distinct gaming and mobile devices
Advanced game capable phones using fully digital distribution
Hybrid gaming and mobile devices with multiple distribution strategies
...the only flaw in this theory is that I don't see mobile gaming going down the pan any time soon.
That said, I think Sony have their work cut out for them to match Nintendo, nevermind wipe out a whole different market.
Keep up the silliness Sony.
Hence, I'll probably always buy things like a Vita or the 3DS. I just have much more need for a dedicating gaming handheld.
And if they fail.. well they still have their android cellphones and tablets. So yeah, Sony wins either way. Nintendo doesn't have cellphones at the moment so they have way more at stake. ;)
