Sony promise 'electrifying' April 27 announcement photo

Sony's official US PlayStation Web site is teasing that an "electrifying announcement will be revealed" on Monday, April 27.

The animated teaser is followed by images from both inFamous and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, two highly anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives. What is it? We have no idea. And even if we did know, we couldn't tell you. Because we promised Sony that we wouldn't until next Monday. 

We, uh, mean that we have no idea what all of this is about. But it's exciting, isn't it?

Both IPs have been bought out by EA and will be the first PS3 games to have DRM.

Yeah it definitely seems like something about Infamous, but what are they going to announce about it?

Only thing I can think of is DLC or a collector's edition.

1.) Infamous for PSP.
2.) Infamous Graphic Novel.

What if the announcement turns out to be really lame (as they usually do when they make an announcement to hype another announcement). You'd think past instances of announcement hyping like this would discourage bloggers from playing along.

If you have an announcement about your games, announce it. Otherwise STFU, cause i dont give a fuck.

Hmm that is very interesting. My guess is that they'll both be available on the PSN Store at release. Sony is getting ready for a massive push towards downloadable games this year and starting off with there summer heavy hitters.

I love how every other site is like, "oh these games are under embargo, but if we were to guess *wink wink* it would be a demo of Uncharted 2 on the inFamous disc which would be 'electrifying'!! It's only a guess though *wink wink*." They make me sick. And people say we have no journalistic integrity, HA!

I still hope that my guess that they will be downloadable titles is right.

There is a point. Read my original post again.

The point was that we should be discouraging the hype mechanism of 'announcing an announcement'. They do not benefit us whatsoever, its just a mind fuck, plain and simple.

If i told you the announcement is going to be about multiplayer modes for the games. Do you honestly believe that this couldn't be said now and needed to wait a week? Sure sony has every right to use this mechanism, but does that mean we have to put up with it? The answer is up to us.

I'm almost willing to bet money it'll be a demo of Uncharted 2 with the Infamous game.

Sucker Punch, Insomniac, and Naughty Dog have always looked out for each other, and this would be a great way for them to hype each other. Plus, it's an added bonus to help Infamous compete with Prototype, since they're being released about 2 weeks apart.
