Just as Microsoft got all excited about their
deal with Akimbo and the downloadable TV and movie service, Sony comes right in to say, "Uh, no, you suck!" To which Microsoft said, "Wha what? What did we do to you? Wahhhh!" Sony released this critical statement today based on the Microsoft's decision to release a core console that shuts out some of its users:
"PlayStation 3's content is designed for everyone to enjoy right out of the box, no matter which configuration you purchase. We would never segregate or shut out any of our consumers from our entertainment experience because they didn't buy the top of the line system. Both PlayStation 3 versions available on November 17 include hard drives for downloading content."
Yes, Sony would never segregate or shut out any of their consumers *cough* Europe *cough* ... *cough* launch shortages *cough* ... *cough* reduced Japanese launch numbers *cough* ... *cough* $600 price point *cough*
