I don't see why not. There needs to be some standard of implementation otherwise developers won't really go for it full throttle.
I may have some personal issues with the 360, but I'll give MS enough credit on the fact that their efforts to have unified standards across all games has ensured that the core components of XBL work ALL the time. Not just achievements, but cross game chat, cross game messaging, etc.
Good thing to see Sony step up on this.
You can't have a WINNER without LOSERS, people, and there is no I in TEAM. Although there is a ME. But it's grammatically incorrect, and SAMIT will ride you like a three-legged dwarf PONY if you even think about trying it.
I mean, in most cases it's a moot point, but in the case of multiplatform games, it simply doesn't make sense for Sony games to NOT have trophy support. Look at Fallout 3, for example. They claim it's "coming" but they don't even hint at when. I can't imagine it's even remotely difficult to enable something that's already running on the 360.
Oh, and people will still blog about trophies. Look at 360 achievements. Just about every high profile game gets a blog post when the achievements are revealed.
You're job is secure, my good man.
How can it be a bad move? It's not like any developer will stop releasing a game because Sony forces the inclusion of trophies.
Also, what MaxVest said. Don't even think about it!
It feels very similar to the large cock up yours.
titles have as well because of this. If they actually went back and
added them to games as well they would make so much profit, the
nimrods. As a ps3 owner their handling of this really pisses me off.
At least they are getting the ball rolling now. uhg.
