Sony needs more Home beta testers photo

It’s been awhile since we last heard about solid information about the oft-delayed PlayStation 3 digital experience, Home. Today, PlayStationBlog announced that the closed beta for Home is expanding, and will be accepting new members at the end of the month. If you want to be one of those new members, you’ll have to apply. Luckily, it’s as easy as a few button presses.

Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta.
I am always willing to join a good beta, nonetheless download snazzy themes. Also, I have to admit, I’m pretty excited. I’ve waffled on what I think about Home on a fairly consistent basis, but at least I could possibly get the opportunity to play the game finally. Are you guys going to try to get in on this?

I'd like to check it out but if my PSN activity is a major factor in being selected it's not likely I'll get in.

Uh it said when the PS store is updated, which is always around 6-8 PM (my time anyway). Anyway, it sounds pretty spiffy I hope I can try it out to knock around people's virtual junk.

Sony needs more home beta testers, because most of the old ones did of old age since it's taking so long.

Nah, probably not. I'm slightly interested to check it out once it's done, but I'm not foaming at the mouth for it, so I'll just wait.

@Crunshii, once it shows the little red shopping bag on the icon, you've been signed up. DLing it more than once wont increase your chances.

Why would anyone NOT get in on this? Do you guys really not download every theme? I take a look at everything theme, even the ones for games that I don't like, because you never know which ones will have stock sounds a new color of icons. Which makes customizing your XMB a lot easier than putting together your own theme just to mix up your icons.

Though I kind of hope I don't get in on it, since I don't really have any interest in it. But you never know, I didn't expect to love the shit out of my PS3 before I bought it either and Sony certainly surprised on that count.
