Sony giving away free LocoRoco stuff, possible Home tie-in forthcoming

LocoRoco oozed personality. Its vibrant visuals and original gameplay elements made up for the game’s shallow feature set and uncomplicated level design. LocoRoco 2 is capitalizing on the former title’s visual flair and adding a few new mechanics aimed specifically to diversify play. And it’s approaching quickly – the game is set to be on shelves by February 10th.

To celebrate the impending release, Sony plans to toss out free goodies for the game over PlayStation Network. It starts out with free PlayStation Portable wallpaper that you can preview over at the official PlayStation blog. As anyone with eyes and an “aawww” bone can see, LocoRoco 2 will be just as cute and cuddly as you remember.

The giveaways are supposed to stretch until release (and possibly beyond). And it might not just be PSN stuff -- Home might be in the mix. In reply to a comment, the associate product marketing manager at Sony Chuck Lacson said, “We ... have been discussing the possibilities internally. Don’t be surprised if you see LocoRoco invade Home sometime in the future.”

Home needs some LocoRoco action. Make it happen, Sony.
