Al de Leon, Sony's hardware PR representative, has confirmed to Game Informer that those PlayStation 4 viral videos are fake. Al simply told GI that he "can confirm that this video is not from SCE [Sony Computer Entertainment]."
So yeah, that was a giant waste of time and energy! Neat! You know what this whole thing reminds me of? That Nintendo ON hoax that made the rounds just before E3 2006. You remember that sh*t? Nintendo had yet to reveal the Wii so everyone and their mother thought the ON was the real deal.
In other news, I'm starting to really hate all this pre-E3 week madness. No, Valve is not making a Duke Nukem game. No, the PS4 isn't going to be at E3 this year. No, I won't be taking obscene photos with the Playboy Playmates at 2K's E3 booth.

I think the PS4 is just a way of saying "the PS3 now has 3D, premium online content, and much more".
I still think Sony will trick us all, and announce all these features in their conference, in a culmination that states "the Playstation 3; it's like a whole new system; a PS4".
What was amusing were the people insisting something like "PS3 + 3D is a new level of experience like getting PS4" was the proper reading of the ads. Ahh, internets.

What I think (that it is not a revolution), and what Sony claims (that it is) are entirely different things.
It's their job to hype us up. From a business perspective, doing what I stated is a smart choice. Just look at how well "it only doesn't everything" worked. "PS3: it's only a brand new console".

Nintendo ON hoax? I don't even remember that. Whoever made that video, when to a lot of trouble. They even mad a fake castle, all for a joke? Did someone ever come forward in order to get the credit, or to gloat over it, or get the T-Shirt?
That PS4 Teaser Trailer was a Fake? That's one hell of an expensive, professionally done fake. Complete with actors and special effects. Again, all for a freaking joke? That is so stupid. Unless this was done as a school project, and you've received a diploma from film school. This was an unbelievable waste of time and money, no matter how cool it looks.

Oh shut up, everyone calling everyone else idiots for believing needs to understand why people would think it's real. The videos themselves are very well made complete with actors, special effects, and other expensive looking shit. Also, the whole V.4.0 Thing also helped convince people the videos were from Sony.

i truly think there wont be a ps4 or xbox 720 till 2015 . they blew so much money on R & D that they'd be stupid to do it all over again so soon. not to say there aren't anyplans in the works.
I gotta agree, I think the concept of a massive firmware overhaul through the PS3 and such is still possible, hence the 'The videos are fake and we did not make them comment' but not full clarification on the situation.

can I please point something out to people? everyone who is so set on this being a fake is basing it a quote from ONE source. have any other serious publications written that they can confirm the statement from sony? no. so hold tight before you pass judgement.
and the other thing is that the statement in and of itself is completely ambiguous. he says: "i can confirm that this was not made by SCE." but wait a second.... the whole premise of these spots is that this is 'test footage' from an SCE lab. that's obviously not true, and that may be all he's confirming in his statement. why didn't game informer publish more of his statement, if he had anything else to say? why didn't he say "i can confirm that this was not made, produced, or solicited to be made by SCE or sony corporation. i can confirm that this was not made by our ad agency. i can confirm that this has nothing to do with PS4 and Ps3." sure, i'm basing my assumptions on a video that's unsubstantiated, but the people DENYING its legitimacy are doing the exact same thing.

But do you really think it could be another console... I still think it is much too early for it. The PS3 still has many more great titles to come.
