Same here Jordan, I've never played a Jak and Daxter game. Seems like a good opportunity to rectify that. And again, I'm really enjoying this trend of HD collections. Hope it continues for the rest of this console generation.
Wow, I thought I was alone.
The only Jak & Daxter game I've played is "Daxter" on the PSP which was quite fun.
Always thought they sounded fun though, just stuck with a Ratchet & Clank enduced state of joy.

I loved the Jak and Daxter games, will be picking this up with MGS HD (when it eventually comes out over here) ASAP

I have the first one on PS2 but it doesn't run very smoothly on BC PS3's. I think I'll just get this HD collection to have all the games in one place.

Um, I like that first Jak & Daxter game a lot, but I hated the second game enough to put me off the series for good. IMO, if Jak talks in the game, then it's a bad Jak & Daxter game.
Is the collection just 1-3? Will people have to wait for a lame second collection for Jak X, Daxter & The Lost Frontier? Probably.

I think Sony will make them regardless of a new game, but those ones get priority. Fun facts:
GOW Collection before GOW3
Sly Collection before inFAMOUS 2 and Sly4
ICO/Shadow for The Last Gaurdian hype
So while I think those were made in that order on purpose, its not the rule, otherwise a Ratchet Collection would have already come out before All4One :P

So the rating leak was how this was confirmed before now? I thought Naughty Dog said something. Or that it was otherwise officially confirmed? Whatever. All the other trilogies/etc made the leap. Kind of cool.
I played a demo f the first one when I was a kid, and while this and Sly Cooper weren't enough to convince me to get a PS2, I had to admit that they were really good and well made. I'll be picking this up for sure when I get my PS3.
@stickfightertv: nah, youre not the only one. I remember the first time i played jak 2... I hated the post gta influence they had goin on. The first game was my fave 3d platformer next to mario 64 at the time, and adding guns and vehicular theft didnt enhance that for me.

Excellent news. Jak & Daxter and Jak 3 provided some of the most fun I've had with my PS2. Jak 2 was pretty damn tedious but still a respectable game.
This is good news for all of you have not played these games. Unfortunately, I would prefer a new Jak as I own and have finished all of the ones in this HD update.
@StickfighterTV Nopes, you're not the only one, i love the first J&D, the other two are just meh... I finished them just for the story.
They'd better let you switch the horizontal camera controls in Jak 1. Made the game unplayable for me.
I played the three games in a row, for the first time each. The gameplay was certainly fun, but the story was really badly paced and seemed to be mad eup as they went along. It was really obvious they were planning to do a generic fantasy sequel for a while before doing the 180 with Jak II.

I always hated the first Jak and Daxter. I thought it was a stupid Crash clone with very little distinction. Jak 2, though, was great. 3, I never cared to try.
Ratchet & Clank HD collection and a Medievil HD collection and we're done with the good collection packs for playstation imo.
DAMN IT!!! I don't want to buy these again, but they are just such great games. Playing them with the little extra HD touches will be sweeeeeet.

Jak and Daxter is one of my all time favorite game series. I'm glad to see that more people will be able to experience that magic for themselves.
@stickfighter and shoryuuken: I'm with y'all on this as well. While I still enjoyed 2 and 3, I felt that the move to a sandbox game approach was a bit of a slap in the face to what really made Jak & Daxter fun. Still, if there's even a remote possibility that buying this will help encourage the development of a Jak 4, then consider my money taken.
I really can't get behind this. I can see HD remakes of games that garnered critical acclaim but had weak sales (Team ICO Collection). It's something totally different to make a collection of games that were commercially successful and used copies are readily available. If I see an inFamous or Resistance collection on the PS4 , Imma start cuttin' bitches.

It would be nice if they fixed Jak II, which had a lot of broken levels (defining my terms: misplaced or non-existent checkpoints, cheap difficulty, and brainless repetition, sometimes all three simultaneously). Who am I fooling? Those are problems deep in the design, all of which were fixed for the third game. Love this series.
Never having owned a PlayStation product prior to 3, I have SEVERAL of "those" series that slipped me by. I'll add this one to the list!
