What I played at the EG expo (the chase demo shown off countless times) seemed massively improved.
I loved inFamous despite it's glaring faults. The story was fun and superheroes are awesome to play as.

I adored the first one so I'm horribly excited for this one, Sucker Punch saying they want the quality to be on par with Uncharted 2 only adds fuel to the fire.
Also this is officially the best day ever; snow day, news on Dark Souls, and stuff on InFamous 2 my head is going to explode from all the awesome.

why re add that stupid morality system that forces you to eater always choose the good or the bed side elimating any choice it may have given you. I rather have no choice at all than a morality system same with fallout 3.

I enjoyed the 1st one very much but after combing the ENTIRE city for 1.5 FUCKING HOURS for a single GOSH DARNIT shard, I gave up.

I'm only at the beginning of inFamous 1 but yeah, the "morality" decisions are a complete waste of time.
If you check out the Playstation Blog there's some really cool info about how the morality system works this time around. Actually I think they called it "duality/morality".
It's based on two NPCs: Kuo is an NSA agent who is working to help Cole defeat the Beast, while Nix is a native of New Marais who grew up in the swamps and has a burning hatred for Bertrand since he killed her family. You can choose to follow Kuo's sensible advice for helping the city or you can give in to Nix's hedonistic urges to just look out for yourself. Should be pretty interesting.
Anyways, I absolutely loved the crap out of the first one, so I'm mega excited for this. Can't wait.

Sorry for the negative sound of this comment, but I really don't see why people complained about old Cole in the first place. Well I know why actually.. But I don't think that was justified at all.

Ugh, still not liking the voice. I'm usually not really that picky about change, but I really liked the original Cole :(.

My one hope is that they'll make the powers more interesting. All your powers in the first game were just electricity-based knockoffs of generic FPS weapons like shotguns, grenades, and rocket launchers. If they decide to do that again, I'd rather they just give you the option to use your powers or pickup guns from your enemies a la Prototype.

Glad they improved the character models although Cole looks too clean. I might give the series another try. I hated the first game. Hopefully Cole will be able to climb chain-linked fences this time.

I liked the first game's morality choices. I can't speak much for the evil side since I played it as a good guy but the little touches like people thanking you and wanting to take their picture with you totally made you feel like a superhero. Or if you were a bad guy they'd throw rocks at you. You don't really get the "little touches" like that in alot of games that provide a morality meter with few exceptions.
This one's on the must buy list. I actually had a little trouble getting into the first one, but once you've built your charcter up a bit the game really gets a lot of fun. I'm sure inFamous 2 will be just as cool.

why does it seem like everyone here hates inFAMOUS? I freaking loved the first game and found very little to complain about. Anyway, this is looking really good so far. Also Tobbii, your wrong, new cole sucked, everybody knew it and thats why Sucker Punch changed it back
When I first played inFAMOUS, I thought it was terrible. I played about an hour and quit. Several months later I had nothing to play and came back to it and I'm soooo glad I did - the game rocks! I thought the ending was one of the best endings to any game ever.

My primary concern from the first game, the platforming, appears to have been addressed. Kinda worried that the new melee system is going to turn out to be a clunky waste of time because of the stupid slow-mo effect on the finishers. Still, it will definitely be a day one purchase for me.
Ahh so Destructoid hasn't changed over the years(giving low scores to games that got almost universal high scores elsewhere)

@mix: I had the same problem. One fucking shard. Found it, it was around the piers, on the first city, all the way to the right. Check there, you might find it.
This is definitely a good game. I had lots of fun with it, and getting the Platinum trophy kept me entertained longer. I respect Jim's opinion, but I think inFAMOUS is far better than Prototype. Let's see what happens when the sequels square off, eh?

I was also going to try to Platinum this game as I've only gone out of my way with one other game (Dead Space) but that shard ruined everything for me, lol.

How did nobody like Infamous? I thought it was a fucking blast. I would've actually beaten the game if my Ps3 didn't die.
My only real complaint with Infamous is how...dodgy the platforming could get. I think they could've put a little more effort into it, to make it a little more fluid. Beyond that, I've run through it multiple times, and so has my roommate. Neither of us really had a problem with the morality system. If anything, it keeps you on focus for the powers that you can only get for being fully good/fully evil etc... They make a difference. And it adds depth to the storyline.
Still haven't found a game world as fun to traverse as Infamous. Prototype comes close, but it's a little too flighty for me. I like the tactile feel of climbing up pipes and skimming across powerlines.

only things i didnt like about the first one was the floaty magnetic ledge grabbing but on on certain things. and the ungodly snipers on every roof with bullets coming from random directs.

Case in point = Early in the game you have the option of dispersing some supplies (food or something) to some regular people on the street, or, taking it all for yourself. This event happened immediately after the first battle, which i got through without really understanding what i was doing and what buttons did what. Literally after punching mid-air and hitting nothing (punching, not zapping), the game accused me of attacking the pedestrians and everybody was berating me as a horrible human being. Lame. Needless to say the entire game failed to impress me and i didnt make it very far in.

I wish they’d just scrap the morality system and just let me choose between a hero campaign or a villain campaign at the offset, I see no point in choices throughout the whole game if we have go all good or all evil anyway.
I actually really enjoyed the first one, it may not have been perfect but I thought it was a lot of fun, especially the platformy level where you go up the tower.
