Sonic Unleashed demo now up on Xbox Live, creepy image now up on this post photo

So, you've read Jim's review of Sonic Unleashed, pondered purchasing the title for under $30 during an Amazon sale, decided against it, and now you are questioning how wise of a decision that was.

Well, here's your chance to find out: a demo for Sonic Unleashed is now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. For the sake of convenience, click on this fancy link to add the demo to your Xbox 360's queue; it'll begin downloading the next time you power on your console.

Back when the the demo for Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) first came out, I remember playing it and getting extremely frustrated by how many times I kept falling to my watery grave. Just talking about it makes me want to watch those damned Linkin Park/Sonic YouTube vids.

In a way, this Sonic Unleashed demo is reminiscent of that dreadful experience, as I also fell to my death in this game while attempting to grind rails. However, there's one huge difference: in Sonic Unleashed, I had fun, and lots of it.

I'm mixed about it. On one hand the werehog stages are godawful. Buggy mashing piles of crap. On the other hand the day stages are what I've dreamed sonic 3d would be like as a kid.

I tried to play it, got past one part of it, and took the fucker right back.

No mr. Fantastic arm moves...

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO GOOD OL' RUNNING? Seriously though, it'd be nice if they went back to that, but then again, I guess making miles long tracks which could be finished in minutes, isn't worth the programming time.

I played the demo. The 2.5D parts where awful, but otherwise it was quite allright! I've heard the werehog sections suck though, so I wont get this game.

The Werehog stages make the game unplayable.

Picked it up on Gamestation's half price sale yesterday. Sonic gameplay I've found fun, Werehog stages are ok but don't belong in a Sonic game but the storyline is just abysmal. That's my impressions so far.

I got the demo yesterday, played for 10 minutes, then deleted it and will never believe sonic can be good again.
Sterling put it right on RFG! - in the 2D games, speed wasn't the core, speed was a reward for choosing the right paths. Like when Mirror's Edge flows if you get the timing right, or in Prince of Persia... also, as I said from the time of the first screenshots, THE FUCKING CAMERA IS TOO CLOSE! When running from left to right, Sonic is packed in the right corner, and you can not possibly see what's about to come up. Sad thing is, stupid people will keep buying it, and Sega will continue making shitty Sonic games.

Played the demo until I got an A grade for the level. I think the game would fun for a while, but like the developer said to make a decent 6- 8 hour game out of the speed sections would be crazy.

Maybe Sonic was destined to be 16 bit and nothing else.

I really enjoyed the demo. I played through it 4 or 5 times last night. In my opinion it moves a bit too fast. Maybe its not that, but it just seems like it's hard to see what's coming up and react to it, because everything is such a blur. It's such a pretty game, I want to take it all in, but my brain can't process all that at once I guess. I also never took the same path twice, which I didn't expect, and there seem to be other variations that I've missed. I still don't think it warrants a purchase just now, but I'll definitely pick it up when the price drops.
