It's been quite some time, but the second episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has finally been unveiled. The first teaser trailer made an appearance on GameSpot (skip to 1:16 in the video above) and it's already announced some significant additions.
Metal Sonic will be the episode's big villain, and Tails is returning. Sadly, no gameplay has been revealed, but Sonic brand overlord Ken Balough has confirmed that the oft-maligned physics from Episode 1 have been fixed, with the hedgehog better resembling his Genesis counterpart.
Hopefully, those people who were freaking out over the physics in Episode 1 can put their diapers back on and relax.
Episode 2 will be on the Xbox 360, PS3, iOS, Windows Phone 7 and Android. Ken did not confirm a Wii version, but with this title due out in 2012, it's highly possible it be a Wii U title.

Meet the rest of the team
Having a hard time caring with how bad Episode 1 was, but I did read that they had learned. while making Sonic Generations so hopefully it will play more like the Classic Sonic versions of that than the first Sonic 4 did.
I enjoyed Episode 1 and thought it was a step in the right direction, but it didn't keep me coming back for more. They seem to be making some big promises here, let's hope they live up to them.
Am I the only one that hopes the release of Sonic Generations and Sonic CD hint to what these "graphical changes" will be? Give me more detailed levels and "classic" Sonic!
The physics in Episode one were fine for me. It was just different. Not really worse or better. Seeing Sonic stand sideways on a ramp was a little amusing though.
I'm pretty sure the physics will be one par with the Sonic CD 2011 release, that was rebuilt in a whole new engine after all to recreate the physics from Sonic 2 rather than Sonic CD that worked differently.
Not a Wii release though? That will piss off a lot of people.
@Henriquegds
Just wait, SEGA hates announcing PC early on. Generations was basically confirmed for PC since announcement, yet they would not reveal it until 2 weeks before launch.
Why the fuck would they put the diapers back on, Jim? Are they doing us a solid by preventing their waste from shooting all over the place? Are you saying that suddenly these people will realize their poo poos and pee pees do not belong on the shirts and shorts of passers by, and seek to contain their awesome powers with Pampers?
No, my dear sir, I propose these people will take the diapers off, and unload their warm deuce missiles in celebration of their victory. I should hope you'd look back on your statements here with regret when this comes to pass.
"Hopefully, those people who were freaking out over the physics in Episode 1 can put their BIG BOY HATS on and check out the game at PAX East, PAX West, E3, CES, Germany...bro"
"Hopefully, those people who were freaking out over the physics in Episode 1 can put their diapers back on and relax."
Seriously, truer words have never been spoken. There were SO MANY people who showed how terrible they were at adapting when the first game came out. You want Sonic to keep going forward? Here's an idea: HOLD FORWARD.
Hope its good but knowing Sega and the fact Generations didn't suck it all can't help but make me think this will suck and The Sonic Cycle will live once more.
But on a lighter note, I want to shave Ken Balough's face while in a Tails costume.
I feel like Sega still needs to slow down more and think about what do they want.
A half way good episodic games of sonic? Or do they want to make one complete package that is well done and finished with he next generation of systems?
It makes me mad that there is no Wii release and with Sonic CD to add to the list.
I had a Pentium 1 with an 8meg graphic card that could run Sonic CD, why is there no wii port?!?! Come on that is just lazy Sega!
There should be a PC version. Episode 1 has been found in the Steam registry, so it's probably coming soon. And they already did Generations and soon Sonic CD. I'd say Sonic's gonna be on PC from now on. So how about a Sonic Colours port, too?! :D
Ep 1 was pants, the controls just were not fun and felt unatural, I played the demo for 10 mins and turned it off.
Hopefully the game will be like SG but with a better jump, however im still unsure if ill be buying ep 2 considering I havnt played though ep 1. If ep2 came with a optional patch to fix ep 1 ild be all over it
Jim, I love you, but it's a bit ridiculous when you chastise people for complaining about Sonic 4 Episode 1's physics. I mean, you did basically run a smear campaign against Silent Hill HD's voice acting. Did you "Put your diaper back on" after they fixed that?
@fordicus. That's completely different. That's a rerelease of an old game with different (awful) voice acting. Sonic 4 was an all new game. They didn't take the old sonics and change the physics. Also, Jim's complaining about the voice acting was NOTHING compared to the fanboy's UNBEARABLE NONSTOP complaining about the physics.
No,Jim. The furry fanboys will never chill out. They'll be excited, play it,cry it's not like the older Sonic games, and say Episode 2 was a pile of shit when Episode 3 is announced.
Damn you, Jim! Why no comment from you about that freak's freakish facial hair??!
You thought it funnier to pretend there's absolutely nothing wrong here, huh?
The physics for classic sonic weren't great in generations. I'm not complaining, but generation had some annoying classic sonic moments. Sonic could barely jump two feet. Certain levels you have to jump absolutely perfect.

However, talk is cheap, so I'll wait and see how this pans out.

Size limits.
I wouldn't be surprised if this rumor was true.

If they would just higher their standards then games with crappy controls would be a rarer thing.
