This Wednesday, we'll all be able to relive the good old days when Sonic games didn't utterly suck. While Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has appeared on numerous systems already, the XBLA version will be the first port to include both online and offline co-op.
Interestingly enough, the Wii's Virtual Console just got Sonic the Hedgehog 3 today. Why is this interesting? For starters, this version of Sonic 3 has no online multiplayer and is more expensive than XBLA's Sonic 2. While they aren't the same games, they're still pretty freaking similar.
So Dtoiders, does Sonic 2 sound like a good deal or have you had enough of the game already?

On the one hand I have Sonic 2 on the mega drive and the GC mega collection, plus I never really thought it was that great a Sonic game. I know that's heresy or something, I just prefer sonic 1 and 3.
On the other hand though, it's cheap, HD and will have achievements and possibly online play. ANd I'm a sucker for XBLA games.
What to do?
(even though i own these on my Genesis still, thats only offline coop, everything is cooler with online coop X) )

My Mega Drive is still plugged on... I still happen to play Sonic 2 from time to time.

Sonic 2 & 3 are cool. I would buy them if I could.

I know some people don't give a shit, but I like the extra dinkies that MS throws in like scoreboards, achievements and online play. If any copy of Sonic 2 justified a purchase in this day and age, I'd say it's this one.
Oh, and LOL@ the Virtual Console and it's untouched ROM service.
Not all new sonic games suck... that gba one was pretty good... although it was pretty much sonic 2/ sonic 3 anyway
