I don't care how nostalgic it makes people feel -- Altered Beast is bloody terrible. It's possibly one of the worst beat 'em ups ever conceived, and as if to rub that in the faces of those who don't know any better, Sega expects you to unlock it in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. That's just cruel.
There are a number of unlockable games in Sega's latest Genesis compilation, none of which are actually Genesis titles. Instead, the unlockables are from the Master System or Arcade. Since I know you're all eager as blimmin' heck to know what they are, here's a list of achievable games:

While you're here, we have some screenshots of videogames, just in case you've forgotten what stuff you've played a million times before actually looks like. We have six images of Shinobi III, while the rest of them come from these unlockable arcade games. None of them were Altered Beast though, so now I have to raid Google for a relevant picture.

While I'm on the subject of Shinobi love..how about a brand new 2d Shinobivania..could you imagine!! Yeah right, but could you???
And I don't miss getting colds because I still get them. I'm recovering from one I've had since last Saturday. I actually get colds *worse* now because my immune system is trying to cope with a brand new country full of germs.
Oh yeah, I actually think I remember you being ill on the last Podtoid. Speaking of which, I have been working my arse off all week without jack shit to listen to here in this piss soaked city. So what happened with the pod? Was there a hiatus announcement I missed? Of course, I expect the Podcastle to be as sporadic as.... well, my longevity graph in the bedroom, but Podtoid is like clockwork, no?
Ironically there was no Podtoid this week because we were all sick. :-)
It's sad that really none of these unlockables would really push me to actually try and unlock them. DAMN IT, TREASURE!! WHERE'S GUNSTAR HEROES?!
Sick of bashing on the awful awesome Altered Beast?
I have very fond, distant video game memories of playing that game in the arcade! And I remember how cool it was to be able to play it on my Genesis! I couldn't believe how "cool" the graphics looked! =) I believe it was even included with the system! Right?
Anyway, opinions matter to only people who care...
I like Altered Beast... Not saying it was the best game of its time, but I remember enjoying it.
