Sonic & Knuckles, Wallace and Gromit hitting LIVE Arcade photo

What’s next on Xbox LIVE Arcade? Not Shadow Complex.

Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE man Major Nelson recently wrote a short blog, revealing to all that the next two games to grace Xbox LIVE Arcade are Sonic & Knuckles and Wallace and Gromit: Episode 2. Both titles are slated to hit this Wednesday.

The Sonic title will debut at 400 Microsoft Points. Dubbed a “Console Classic,” this title originally appeared in North America in October 1994 for the Sega Genesis. It stars -- who would have guessed -- Sonic and the red wrecking machine Knuckles. The title features the same 2D stuff (like Contra: Rebirth) that Sonic players, for whatever reason, seem to enjoy.

Wallace and Gromit: Episode 2
is the continuation of the Telltale Games’ series. It carries a price tag of 800 Microsoft Banana Dollars.

It seems the Sonic games fare well on downloadable platforms. Are any of you interested in it, or will the next Wallace and Gromit tickle your fancy more?

Sam and Max was okay, Monkey Island is great, but Wallace and Gromit is the Telltale series that just does nothing for me.

One assumes it is because I never got into the films.

Probably all in menu. To be honest, the saddest thing about these Backbone Vintage ports is that you lose the Title Screens and Menus of the originals all to that horrible faux-regal blue backdrop.

I shouldn't be temped since I own 2 versions of all the sonic games already, then plus emulators...but I am tempted!

If you buy Sonic and Knuckles then you are a pillock.

If I didn't own Sonic & Knuckles in 3 different forms already I might be more inclined to buy this version

Why buy a port when you have the original at hand?

400 Moon-money dollars for a single port, or $30 for a compilation disc with a ton of Genesis games, including S&K. Decisions, decisions.

Sonic & Knuckles combined with Sonic 3 is nothing less than the best Jump'n'Run ever made.

I may need to dig out my MegaDrive.
At least it'll save me the 800p for S&K and S3.

..or I could use the emulator. Or one of the millions of rereleases.

..or I'll probably end up buying it anyway, even though I own it on so many different platforms. Eh.

Good lineup, but sorely lacking in Radiant Silvergun and Project Justice.

Come on, people...give the man what he wants, already.

Finally, loved the first Wallace and Gromit episode and so happy to see they are releasing the rest on XBL even if the first one sold extremely poorly.
