"Why no Sonic 3 Sega?"
It's not on PSN/Live yet, that's why.
This is just a bundle of the games available on the platforms, which right now are all those included in the bundle.
The Wii Virtual console, on the other hand...
Huh. Someone should tell Microsoft it's not on Xbox Live Arcade, because you can totally get it right now and have been able to for a couple years.
Someone should fix that.
It could be legal reasons with the jackson estate or something. 3 was my personal favorite though.
It could be relevant for Sonic Generations, if the game ends up sucking.
Yet again, after people have claimed to be disappointed by Sonic Colors and Sonic 4, those same gamers are getting their hopes up.
Gee, dude, thanks for the pick-me-up!
Still, since this is a PSN bundle, and the game is not on PSN yet, my point still stands and I save face.
If they put Sonic 3 & Knuckles into the mix, that bundle would be a must-buy. Sonic 4:Episode 1 just isn't an adequate substitute.
There is no reason to be slow to download that demo, though.
I guess that I would reply with:
Unless Microsoft has Sonic 3 locked up for some reason, just put it out on the PSN, and announce it with the bundle - the framework is there.
Hard to tell, really. It could also have to do with the emulation. Just because it runs on Live (which I didn't even know it existed, but hech, I didn't really check) doesn't mean the same emulation code will work on PSN.
Or it could very well be legalities over the emulation code.
Point is, this is a quick "promotion code" type of bundle thing, so they are using what exists already on the platform.
Anyway, that Sonic bundle is a terrible deal. But I am interested in the Generations demo.
Not really. Have you played Colours? It's okay, certainly not a great game, but decent. At first. The game kind of falls apart towards the end. Then again, maybe the cycle is finally getting broken.
But I'm not holding my breath, and the image is certainly relevant.
But the better choice is to just get a cheap copy of Ultimate Genesis Collection or Sonic Classics Collection on DS, which has the games emulated properly.
Still oughta be good for those not on any badnwagons, though I might wait until the other old Sonic games release (or not, whatevz).
i have ZERO faith in this game.
That picture is completely irrelevant. Last year both Sonic games released to positive criticism and there has been nothing but positivity surrounding Generations. If some people thought Colors or 4 were meh or just plain not good that's fine, those people exist for ANY game, but if you're going to use a picture that implies universal panning it's not relevant. And just because you aren't holding out for Generations doesn't mean anything. What matters as far as the cycle goes is what the people who have played it have to say and they say it's great.
I don't know. I think people get so hung up on "The Sonic Cycle" that they can't actually see that the series has been moving into a positive direction both according to the community and to critics and they can't even give it a chance. It's ridiculous. Looking at Metacritic now and both 4 and Colors have an astounding majority of positive criticism. Can we stop talking about the stupid cycle now?
The sonic cycle meme was funny at first, but now it's just dumb, seeing how the Sonic series isn't near as bad as it used to be. While I didn't like Sonic 4 Episode 1, a lot of people did and a lot more people thought Sonic Colours was a good game, including me.
I really with they'd make another Sonic Rush, though. Despite the crappy stories Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure were some of my favorite Sonic games in many, many years. Sonic Colors on the DS was just kinda decent. I heard it was really nice on the Wii, and I imagine they only made it for the DS as a side-project.
1, 2, 3, Knuckles, Spinball. Sheeeeet. And a bunch of other classic Genesis stuff.
Anyway, can't wait for the demo. I happen to think Sonic 4 is the shit, so more 2D is always welcome. I have my ideas for a 3D Sonic, but it probably never happen, so... hopefully this one is fun enough.
I mean, if I have to play it on PS3, I will. I just don't want to. Or perhaps a 3DS demo? You know, since Nintendo said they'd start doing that.
Can we get that in here?
But 2 games does break a cycle. It's not about making up for anything. It's about the perpetuation of a series of mishaps. Colors and 4 seemed to put things back on course and Generations is getting good impressions. I'm not going to assume Generations will be amazing (Remember, Unleashed had great demos too) but at the point where we're off the tailend of two good games and entering into what is being called by the press another good one can't you say that breaks the cycle?
