That's weird that it doesn't come with Sonic 1+2+3, and 4, but ok! I hope the Generations demo is good.
I still like the idea that years of crying out for "classic sonic to return" caused the SEGA executives to panic and conclude that Classic Sonic must mean the character.
Even better, Sonic 2 is free on PSN right now for PS Plus members. And because of Sony's Welcome Back package, that's pretty much everyone.

@El Conrado: Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles are on XBox Live Marketplace.
If they put Sonic 3 & Knuckles into the mix, that bundle would be a must-buy. Sonic 4:Episode 1 just isn't an adequate substitute.
There is no reason to be slow to download that demo, though.

We're still posting Sonic Cycle pictures? That shit got old in 2007 when they started consistently releasing good Sonic games. It's no longer funny or relevant.

Not really. Have you played Colours? It's okay, certainly not a great game, but decent. At first. The game kind of falls apart towards the end. Then again, maybe the cycle is finally getting broken.

You can definitely play Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles on Xbox Live, provided you buy all of them.
But the better choice is to just get a cheap copy of Ultimate Genesis Collection or Sonic Classics Collection on DS, which has the games emulated properly.

Heck, it just occured to me that the fact that Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles IS on Live and not PSN is the exact reason why this bundle is only happening on PSN.
Thanks to a SEGA sale some months ago, I got Sonic Adventure and its DX unlock for half off, and I've been getting the olde games and dynamic theme via PlayStation Plus. That just leaves Sonic 4, and since I still suck so hard at Sonic anyways, that's not on my menu.
Still oughta be good for those not on any badnwagons, though I might wait until the other old Sonic games release (or not, whatevz).

That picture is completely irrelevant. Last year both Sonic games released to positive criticism and there has been nothing but positivity surrounding Generations. If some people thought Colors or 4 were meh or just plain not good that's fine, those people exist for ANY game, but if you're going to use a picture that implies universal panning it's not relevant. And just because you aren't holding out for Generations doesn't mean anything. What matters as far as the cycle goes is what the people who have played it have to say and they say it's great.

It's looking solid. As someone who likes both 3D and 2D Sonic I have high hopes for Generations.
I really with they'd make another Sonic Rush, though. Despite the crappy stories Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure were some of my favorite Sonic games in many, many years. Sonic Colors on the DS was just kinda decent. I heard it was really nice on the Wii, and I imagine they only made it for the DS as a side-project.

You know live regularly has sales on th originals. Picked up S & N and 3 for like 240 Pts not long ago.

I personally think the sonic cycle is still relevant, especially the part were the fans proclaim that sonic is making his triumphant return(just look at the forums around the net), and then when they declare they will never be fooled again(once again just look at the forums around the net). But then again generations is getting good impressions by the press, but still 2 games do not make up for over a decade of shity games.
