To be honest, I was hoping it would be similar to the console versions, with 3D and 2D. It makes sense that they'd do old versus Sonic Rush-style, though.

What is the point of modern sonic then? I guess maybe modern sonic will be like sonic rush, and classic sonic will be like the original genesis levels?
I don't really care about the Modern Sonic bit since it's just Rush but with a 3D part, but IF Sonic Generations were to come out on the NGP it should have Unleashed Sonic on there. However I still want a port of SA2 on PSN over an Unleashed Style game like Colors but then again to be honest I thought colors for the Wii was a pile of shit because of it's Rush like engine which I really despise on a console

the Sonic DS games weren't bad, but they didn't do much for me. I was also hoping for a console port.

Interesting idea, actually since that's basically how the 2D versions of Sonic have evolved over the years. However, wouldn't modern Sonic's console levels make better use of the 3D?
Honestly, I thought the side-scrolling parts of Sonic Colors were the weakest so I'm a bit bitter towards that aspect.

Hopefully the multiplayer will have online play and there are still 3D gameplay sections of the game
