Sonic Colors special edition revealed photo

I didn't even know this was a thing, but apparently it is. Sega has seen fit to bring out a limited edition version of Sonic Colors, a title that Sega is proudly calling one of the best Sonic games ever made.

The Sonic Colors limited edition comes with a bunch of toys. As well as the obligatory hedgehog customers will also get three Wisps -- the colored aliens that give Sonic special powers during the course of the game. The Wii version will contain a White Wisp, an Orange Wisp and a Cyan Wisp. The DS version packs a Yellow Wisp, Red Wisp and Blue Wisp.

The Sonic figure looks kind of janky, with weird joints that give him Popeye arms, but the Wisps are neat if you're into that sort of thing.

So far it seems to be listed for Australia and Europe, with no word on a North American release. We'll see if one comes our way, but Sega does seem to like giving PAL gamers special treats.

God, I would never use these, but I'm a sucker, so I want them.

I think running into every store in our mall with the Sonic hat is enough for me. However, I would like to see more details on anything pertaining to the DS version; the Wii version is a non-matter to me, considering I'm bereft of any current-gen home consoles.

I wouldn't have bought it if they hadn't changed the spelling to 'Colours' for the European release.

I'd have preferred a static Sonic figurine, rather than this creepy poseable humanoid... thing. But the game looks ace so I would like this. It marks both the first time that I'm actually excited for a Sonic game (and I don't think it will all go terribly upon release) and that I wouldn't cast off the handheld version as a cash machine for the console one. They're both looking great for their own different reasons, which is how it should be done. Given that these two games don't crash and burn, good job Sega!

Goddamn it. First Europe gets extra letters in the title, and now they get toys too? Where does this injustice end?

So, we Americans get the Sonic helmet, and Europe gets this awesome Sonic figure? Is that whats going on, because I allready pre ordered just the normal version. I really hope they dont announce this version as Sonic Special Edition and I have to pre order that version to get the figures. Or, how would that work, like normal edition you get a hat, and special edition you get the figure. We might not see it over here.

This is definately a special edition that doesn't seem very collectable, will be great for kids though.
As for the game, it's gonna be great for the long-time Sonic fans and the new kids too, hopefully.

You non Australian/European's don't complain you get a bunch more special edition shit than us and most of the time it's much better than this Sonic one.
