Sonic classics getting collected for Nintendo DS photo

If you simply must play classic Sonic the Hedgehog games wherever you go (the DMV, the toilet, in bed), then Sonic Classic Collection is the Nintendo DS game for you.

Available in early 2010, the game collections the first four games in the Sonic series -- Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. The DS collection adds a new save feature to Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, as well as a special "history of Sonic" video.

"The Sonic Classic Collection will introduce a whole new generation of gamers to this beloved Hedgehog and take them back to his humble beginnings," says Sega's Vice President of Marketing, Sean Ratcliffe.

Yes, back to the humble beginnings. No more werehogs or 3D adventures, please. Who's with me on this?

Still no Sonic CD?

Aside from the new project, thats the only sonic I'm interested in buying at this point.

After Sonic 1 GBA, you have a long way to go before you've earned my trust, Sega.

That's kinda cool... esp with the new save feature....
I assume Sonic and Knuckles will actually work with all the games. Still waiting for that one to hit VC.

Jesus, Sonic is more ubiquitous right now then the corner girls. At least, I think they're girls...

Love Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, however I don't agree on just 2d games. I still believe there can be a good 3d Sonic game, just take out the werehog and the randomly added Sonic friend and chances are you'll get a good game. I don't mind seeing Tails and Knuckles but when you branch out to Rouge and Shadow or some other character like that thats when it gets a little overboard nowadays.

I'd really like to see a 3d Sonic game only using the Sonic Unleashed day time stage formula. I goddamn loved those stages.

Say what you will, but I thought Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were damn good games on the Dreamcast.

Finally! It's been so hard to have access to these games in any other way, I'm glad to see they've finally released these games in some kinda of a classics collection.

Seriously though, I'd prefer to just have a new 2D sonic game than just keep replaying these four. They're great games and all, but I really would like to have something new.

Yes! At this point, anything is better than the garbage games Sega has threw Sonic in. I'd love to play through the original Sonic classics on the go! =) I mean, besides in Brawl, I almost forgot how cool a character Sonic is.

What the Sega VP of Marketing meant to say:
"The Sonic Classic Collection will show a whole new generation of gamers that Sonic the Hedgehog did, indeed, have some good games in his humble beginnings, unlike the poo that has been released since" says Sega's Vice President of Marketing, Sean Ratcliffe.

Overplayed and overdone. Instead of taking Sonic "BACK TO HIS HUMBLE BEGININGS" why not try and actually make him something that he hasn't been in the past decade, a good game.

Wow, who'd have thought eh.

Least it just goes to show that when Microshaft finally pull out of console production we'll see Halo and Gears of war on the PS4 or PS5 or whatever. Great. /sarcasm.

The Sega vs Nintendo console war was far less aggressive than the current matchup, sure it's got something to do with the internet.

I'll be buying this just because I haven't played any of these games in years and I miss them.

Well, If Project Needlemouse comes out and its bad, It just shows that SEGA doesn't even care about the hedgehog anymore. Seriously: 2D does not equal better game.

I wonder if they'll throw Knuckles' Chaotix or SEGASonic the Hedgehog in there. Those would be some interesting gems to port into that package. And what's this hubbub about that screenshot with Sonic & Knuckles teaming up against the Eggbot in Mushroom Hill Zone?

And yeah, Sonic CD man. That's gotta be in there.
