Sonic Classic Collection coming to DS because we need it photo

Jesus C*nting Christ! Despite there being roughly ten billion Sonic the Hedgehog compilations, it seems that Sega feels we can always have more, and has recently submitted Sonic Classic Collection to the OFLC for rating. This time, the blue blur will be reliving his long-lost glory days on the DS.

Sega has not officially announced the game yet, but we all know what to expect -- a bunch of Genesis games we already own, flavored with the irony of Sega constantly re-releasing good Sonic games while being unable to make any decent new ones. It will probably lack anything new, interesting or rarely seen, and the only one worth replaying will be Sonic 2, which everybody already has eighteen copies of.

I can't believe Sega is still able to make money doing this.

Is this going to run laughably slow like Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis?

I stopped buying Sonic games after I purchased the first one for the iPhone. I then played 2 minutes of it and thought to myself...what am I doing?

"only one worth replaying will be Sonic 2,"

Sonic 3 & Knuckles would like a word about that, Jim.

IF they include the Sonic Advance games, I'm sold. Especially if they decide to add Blaze ala Knuckles.

I'll keep waiting for the compilation that gets the emulation right. In the meantime, Sega can keep trying.

Hopefully it will run a bit faster than the GBA version.

I wonder which hidden games it'll include I probably already owned at some but can't find and use it as an excuse to get it. Dammit Sega! Release a console already and make me happy...

If this offers me a better experience than *not* http://www.workingdesign.de/projects/jenesisds.php I might spring for it...

the thing is though, *cough* *cough* "not emulation" on the ds has shown us that the resolution that the genesis output, was higher than that of the screen of the ds...

Stop rehashing Sonic, and start giving me some decent sequels to games like Shining Wisdom, Shining Force, and Legend of Oasis.

@HEL105 A decent sequel to Shining Force that's not an adventure, but a true strategy RPG sequel to Shining Force? Yes please.

Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) is better than Sonic 2. So no, Sonic 2 is not the only one worth playing. And you call yourself a Sonic fan, Mr. Jim Sterling. HAH!

Uh oh, more Genesis packs. We know it was a great system, but why should we buy games we own 15 times already?

If they can get Sonic 3 & Knuckles running sweetly on the DS (which I am told this mysterious Jenesis thing no idea what that is, can't do) I'll be sold.
All I own them on is Megadrive carts.

Just put Sonic CD on DS or PSP and I'm happy.
Sonic R as well while you're at it.

There is only one Sonic collection you will ever need and that collection is this one which, even at that ridiculous price, is still cheaper than other, similar collections - and you can find it cheaper than that elsewhere, too. Don't have a PS2? There are PC, Xbox and Gamecube versions, all of which are 100% forward compatible with whatever you have.

Since this collection has every worthwhile Sonic game to date, and since no good Sonic games could possibly come out in the future, this collection allows you the liberty of never paying for a Sonic game again. Ever.
