Here's a new trailer for the Sega/BioWare collaboration Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The above video demonstrates how combat looks in this DS roleplayer, and as you can see, it mostly looks brightly colored.

What I will never understand is why, just because it's a DS trailer, we have to have the game footage squashed into a tiny square to accommodate a pretend touch screen. I think, so many years into the DS' life cycle, we all know what one looks like by now. Way too many DS trailers do this and it's ridiculous.

Still, I'm looking forward to Dark Brotherhood, if only out of curiosity.

Looks neat. I've been replaying Mario RPG, and that gives me hope for this game.

I think one of the reasons for using the DS screen format in trailers is because DS graphics tend to look really bad if you stretch them to fill a full 640 x 480. By keeping the gameplay video small, it tends to look sharper and closer to what you'll actually experience. In this trailer I didn't mind the DS being there, so much as how it kept floating around. It made it hard to pay attention to the game.

AGENTS ARE GOOOOO!!!
ah, there it is. yep, the combat system is like Elite Beat Agents. Which is really good. I was worried about it being turn-based, which would be a mixed bag for a Sonic game.

What's up with "The Dark Brotherhood" subtitle? It sounds so gay/lame.

The battle system kind of looks like Elite Beat Agents. Which is awesome.
