You know what? I hate Sonic Adventure 2.
SA2 has the distinction of being the first 3D Sonic I played and the first game I ever returned to a rental shop within a few hours.
Ignoring all the horrible voice work, awful soundtrack and the terrible gameplay, I think what annoyed me the most was that I played Sonic in the first level and then had to play as Tails in some machine and Knuckles on a fetch quest.
I later enjoyed Sonic Adventure for what it was (playing as Sonic) and I really haven't bothered with another 3D game since.
Of course, this is great for those that want it. I am happy for you.

I literally just finished Sonic Generations like 2 days ago, and playing the City Escape level in that game got me seriously jonesing for Sonic Adventure 2. I know a lot of people don't seem to like it that much, but I first played it shortly after Sega announced they were getting out of the console business and loved it. I was always kind of disappointed in myself for not 100%ing it though. So I guess here's my chance!
Although after getting Sonic Adventure 1 and not really playing it that much because it just wasn't what I remembered... I'm a little afraid I'll experience the same feelings when this comes out.

I always liked Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast, even if I never liked Shadow at any point. I remember spending ages on the Chao breeding minigames...
oh man I love SA2. it was the first Sonic game I ever owned, seeing as I was a Nintendo kid but still liked Sonic from my days playing on my friend's Genesis. I'm getting some serious nostalgia here.
the chao garden was the best thing and you all know it. I logged over 100 hours, and I'm pretty sure half of that was just leaving the game on with the chao garden, waiting for my chao to evolve while I did something else.

I love it for the awesomely terrible soundtrack. I spent a whole month just playing the City Escape level in Generations over and over. Just thinking about it now brings a smile to my face.
There's about 1/3 of the game worth playing as I remember. The Shadow/Sonic levels are good, but the rest are too slow.

I'm a Nintendo fanboy but the reason I bought a gamecube when it came out was for sonic adventure 2...
@Patrick Borrelli: If it's anything like the first Sonic Adventure, they'll release the original version and then have the Battle stuff be DLC.

PLEASE BRING THIS TO VITA! I may be in the minority, but I really love Sonic Adventure 2. I say that knowing that it is in no way a good game and that it simply doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. But it's still awesome.
This news please me. Hopefully "Battle" will be DLC.
Now to wait for Burning Rangers, Clockwork Knight 1 & 2, Panzer Dragoon 1, Zwei & Saga, and a Shining Force collection (3 ep 1 was best).

I loved this game for the Sonic/Shadow/Eggman levels, everyone else was shit. I still love this game though and its chao garden.
I love this game. The Tails and Eggman stages were pretty fun, didn't like the Rouge and Knuckles levels, but the Sonic/Shadow stages were absolutely fantastic (probably some of the best 3D Sonic levels).

Sonic Adventure 2 was less glitchy that Sonic Adventure. It also has a superior version of the Chao Garden. It also has Rouge the bat instead of Big the cat.
The 2-D Sonic series has none of those plus its minimal glitches aren't particularly amusing when they do crop up. Therefore, Sonic Adventure 2 is the best Sonic game to (its original release)date.

Wow. How could any self proclaimed Sonic fan outright hate this game? In fact, it's one of the greatest Sonic games ever released, hands down. Unlike "Flinders Dorian-Rothman", I feel it has some of the best gameplay, variety especially, in any Sonic game. Not the mention that the music is outstanding on all counts. I really don't know how much time I've spent playing this game but I do know that it's too much to count. Looks like more hours are on the way! Anyone like Flinders has their standards set waaay too high and it's just silly. If you haven't played Sonic Adventure 2, here comes your chance. It's money well spent!
@SoundsLike: That's okay, but Sonic Adventure 1 had other playable characters too, and you must complete the game with all of them in order to be able to play the final stage.
Wow, so many people with the same experience as me. This game is in the same little space as Rayman 2 for me. A truly darker and engrossing game than its predecessor that really improved on the content in every manner. I played this game to death (mainly because of the CHAAAAAAOOOOO GARDENNNNNNN) and I still don't find it to be a bad game at all after all these years. I LIKED Shadow. I LIKED the story split. I LIKED the divergent styles of platforming and combat. Would totally be up to play this again.

Yes, it has many flaws, including a frustrating camera on some levels, but the game was FUN! Which many current games seem to be lacking in... The biggest draw was collecting animals for the Chaos. I would replay a level a zillion times just to get more animals. This and upcoming NIGHTS for XBLA, and OKAMI on PSN... dream come true. I can almost put away my older systems now.
