We've seen Sonic the Hedgehog 4 on Xbox 360, and it looks damn good. How does it fare on Wii? According to these new screenshots, revealed by Nintendo of America, it's not too shabby at all. According to Nintendo, the game will feature full HD resolution, so there's a reason it looks so nice!
The WiiWare version of Sonic 4 will feature everything that the more powerful consoles provide, including online leaderboards. Widescreen format was also hyped as a feature, which is kind of sad that a Wii game would have to pimp that as a bonus, but there you are.
In any case, the Wii alternative is coming along nicely, and that's not a bad thing.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Can't even go one day without trolling, and showing everyone how much you hate Sony, clearly evidenced by the word grouping of, "...these new screenshots", and "In any case..."
More seriously, how will the Wii display Sonic in Full HD with a component cable?
I think the idea is just to know it's there and be satisfied that if you could see it in HD, it would look great.
So what you're saying is that it would be HD on the Wii, if the Wii could output anything past 480p, which it can't.
Wha?
Maybe they're expecting everyone to run out and buy that upscaler.
I'm not saying that. It appears to be what Nintendo is saying.
:(
But this is Donkey Kong Country graphics. A Super Nintendo could do this.
So why does the wii version look so much more blurry and less defined than Donkey Kong Country? Is my memory bad, or am I being shafted?
I think the timeframe between Megaman 10's announcement and release was much smaller.
Which is why Wii owners got the shaft on that game - it's one of few that look better on an emulator flat-out without all postprocessing and just upping the resolution a bit.
For a game as gorgeous as Muramasa, it deserved to be played in HD... wasn't there talk of bringing it to 360/PS3?
Sonic has weed?
Thanks guys! YOU ROCK.
Honestly, I wanted to get it on the Wii anyway -- Sonic just feels right with Nintendo if Sega's not going to make consoles themselves.
