I won't be getting it unless there are vast improvements.
Sonic 4 wasn't awful but it repeated a lot of the mistakes that have been repeatedly criticised.

I think they thought that copying Valve would make people want it more. But no, I couldnt be any less interested.

Its probably taking so long because to fix the gameplay they have to basically re-create some of the Episode 1 stages from scratch, most notably the Casino act. Its tied to the crummy physics engine, although that's not to say they couldn't recreate it for Episode 2 when you "lock-on"

Or they could not make it, and no one would really care. Hell, old school sonic fans would probably prefer this.
