It's been about fifty Internet years since we've heard anything about Sonic 4: Episode 2. I have wondered, as I reckon some of you have, whether the Sonic 4 project was obsolete now that Sonic Generations seems to be doing what the the former purported to do -- bring the series back to its Genesis roots. Doesn't seem to be the case!
In speaking with VG247, Sega West CEO Mike Hayes has stated that new info regarding the second chapter should arrive any day now. That's... not really much to go on, but at least the game hasn't vanished into the ether. I really hope Sega decides to go with original zones instead of classic re-imaginings now that Sonic Generations has that space covered.
Hayes also mentioned that Episode 1 cleared one million downloads across all the platforms. That's good news, I guess.
