Someone hit the wrong button on the press, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky delayed photo

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, the survival FPS title developed by GSC Game World for the PC, will not hit retail outlets until September 15th due to a “problem in manufacturing.” Instead of something funny like a coffee spill, it is being reported by Shacknews that the game was recalled. Apparently, GSC Game World forgot to package in one of those pesky CD keys that allow people to play the game.

This manufacturing tragedy will also affect the Steam release of the game. Although Clear Sky already had an undetermined release on Steam, it appears that the digital version will be put on hold until this mess clears up in retail outlets.

The game takes place in an alternate reality in which the Chernobyl nuclear accident spawned all sorts of crazy stuff like ESP and psychic weapons. Perhaps this real world meltdown will give us the opportunity to explore how to hire competent people to package games.

Wait a sec, this is already out in the UK!
Did we get Clear Sky before the rest of world or am I dreaming?

That's funny because PwnyBownz tried to buy this in a store somewhere yesterday (they had it on the shelf) and they told them they couldn't because of the street date. I guess that's the real reason though.

At least the reason is kinda funny!

Also, that screen looks pretty good! I thought the 1st STALKER sucked pretty bad.

Hmm, too bad about the reason. A mate has been playing the russian version with some english language pack but it's so riddled with bugs that it's unplayable. Sounds like the same old "Let's wait a month till they've patched it to a full game" thing as with STALKER 1 and The Witcher.

I'm sure with mods it'll be fantastic. Like STALKER 1.

I still play through S.T.A.L... fuck it, Stalker pretty much every week. I'm really looking forward to this -- hilarious delay though.

The original stlaker was a fantastic game. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. GO back to your Crysis and IMEERSHUUNZ with oblivion and oblivion with guns.

Amazon UK sent me mine 5 days ago and I'm playing it at the moment. I had no problems at all and got my key printed on the manual.

I even patched it. Just one thing, remember to patch before starting to play because patch messes up with savegames and screws them.

Ive been playing this since last friday. Isnt it grand when America finally get fucked over with a game release instead of us. I suspect the developers living in the "former" Soviet Union territory might have something to do with it.

Its gonna be the start of WWIII I tells ya.

..sorry to be petty, but we get next to no sympathy when stuff like this happens to us.
