Infinite Space is an upcoming DS title from Sega which places you in the shoes of a young hero named Yuri battling his way through space in what sounds to be a bit of a sci-fi epic. That sounds like it could be an interesting RPG to me, but unfortunately the video about contains no gameplay whatsoever, instead going with the anime movie approach instead.
I like anime and everything, but I won't lie -- it's doing nothing for me in this particular trailer. What I want to see if how the game will actually play, and it looks like I'll have to wait a while for that yet. Infinite Space is currently slated for a Spring 2010 release. One thing I do really like about the look, though, is that it seems like a nod to Japan's classic 80's sci-fi anime. What do you think -- worth checking out, or are you tired of RPGs on the DS?
I really want to be excited for this game, but given how much they seem to avoid showing gameplay I' m a bit worried that they're just hiding how lame it is.
I've heard that this is actually one of four anime web episodes that Sega made for the game in Japan. They supposedly tell some of the back story to the main game and Sega of America will be translating and releasing them up to the game's launch. So I wouldn't look at it as a trailer for the game and expect gameplay footage necessarily. Hopefully some of those trailers will come later.
So they have ships going ten times the speed of light? What is it with anime involving ships and/or robots, and their insistance on making the speed of light seem as slow as possible?
Jack Maverick: If you're an anime, and you don't have faster than light travel, you're doing it wrong. Unless you're Eureka 7 or Cromartie High School. Good times.
I'd love for some British version of Bill Nye (such as Brainac, do they still show that?) to explain faster than light travel. In the funniest way possible.
I mean, I'm excited about it. I haven't seen videos but I've read some of the information about the gameplay and it sounds promising. I guess the story is loosely based on "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clarke.

Why am I asking these questions?
And I could be seriously crazy, but I could have sworn Nibris had this game at some point...
This doesn't seem like it will change that fact either(based on this trailer alone).
When will it end?
I'd love for some British version of Bill Nye (such as Brainac, do they still show that?) to explain faster than light travel. In the funniest way possible.
@Los225: Tell that to Final Fantasy.
