To an outsider, the most interesting online addition to Left 4 Dead 2 in a post-"The Passing" DLC environment are Mutations. Delivered to servers weekly, these are essentially new game modes that alter the player experiences and tactics across the game's various campaigns. For example, "Chainsaw Massacre" gives the survivors only a chainsaw in campaign mode.
Valve plans to reveal the new game modes via its in-game blog, but it appears as if a Steam message board user spoiled part of the surprise by posting the names of some of the modes he discovered while digging around in the game's files. We can't confirm that his information is correct (or even real) but the idea of an "M60s" mode has us all flustered and not thinking straight. Check below the fold for the list.
