Some of these 'new' Guitar Hero Metallica screens look familiar, but here you go photo

I'll be honest and say I'm not sure that all (or any) of these Guitar Hero: Metallica screens that Activision just blasted out to the European press are new. In fact, they're all kind of looking the same to me at this point.

Whether we're talking Rock Band or Guitar Hero, screens don't do much for us. I mean, the games are about music, right? So looking at these, it's more of the same. And while I'll fully admit I'm not a big fan of Guitar Hero: World Tour (visuals? mechanics? soundtrack? where do I start?), I'm intrigued by Guitar Hero: Metallica

Of course, that's because of the music, of course. I haven't played or even seen the game in action yet, but it seems to be a decent collection of classic Metallica, along with some of the "newer" stuff ("OMG! Everything on the Black Album was teh crapz!"). Combined with the "guest artist" songs, it looks like it will indeed be the most metal music game to date.

If anything, we can look forward to picking up some of the Xbox 360 achievements, right? A five gamerpoint achievement ("The Memory Remains") for watching a "Metallifacts" video? Sure, why not?

Wow, talk about throwaway points. I remember watching that one documentary they put out. I nearly fell asleep, and I like Metallica. >_>;

Same game, different skin, different music. Ho-hum.

When will guitar hero get old? Please tell me it's before we see a "Guitar Hero: Wham!".

It really kills me to such a great selection of tracks under the guitar hero name. The game is just inferior to Rockband in all ways that really matter (not to say GH is bad, of course not, just that Harmonix put lots of effort into improving the formula, and did a great job). Still might have to pick it up eventually anyway.

I wish I'd kept following the Guitar Hero/Rock Band scene long enough to be able to tell them apart, much less side with one.

You mean there's no "Guitar Hero: Gigi Alan Edition"?

When are we going to get "Cello Hero"?

What part of gameplay footage don't these people understand, who cares about all the crap going on in the background anyway. I wish they would just put the album cover there or something and make the damn fretboard longer. Especially in multiplayer.

@Akaryan18

I wrote a long C-Blog regarding how to put double bass on both drum sets. Head over there to check out how.

As for the article, it's metal. I love metal. I must have. Period.

Even though I hate what Guitar Hero has become... I love Metallica. Probably gonna buy it.

This gutar fad needs to end...people actually think they can play guitar because they play this game. Example...i was picking up dinner from a burgrer joint when i noticed the guy in front of me was wearing a guitar hero/rock band controller. If it were a kid(under the age of 13) i can understand, but the guy was at least in his 30's and after he ordered he started jamming... i died a little inside at that point and left before i became futher enraged.
The point is, isnt it just getting old now...just like metallica? The only good albums they put out were ride the lightning and reloaded. And after the whole napster bs i lost all of what little respect i had for them.

@Clown wow you think Reloaded is better than both Master of Puppets and the black album? :O

What Sockapal said. Clown man you didn't really back up your criticism with saying Reloaded, oh fyi its Reload, is better than Puppets? And Justice For All? The Black Album? Yea you can be pissed at the fuckwit in line with his fucking guitar hero controller, but don't tell me Reload is better than Puppets.

Isn't a playlist full of Metallica songs really the kind of thing that should be reserved for DLC, not a whole "new game." I'm sure Metallica wouldn't go for that though, what with their fear of the internet and all.

Give me Guitar Hero: Radiohead or I'm never playing another GH game as long as I live.
