Could be that they've pulled some of their key people off to give support to fixing MAG... which is a good thing (there seems to be a resurgence in fixing old though not game-breaking issues with the game). This bodes well for SOCOM 4 being a better game in the end.

@Elsa, that's a good point, they have a lot of work going on with MAG right now and they're like split teams so I wouldn' be surprised if they have shifted some talent over there. Come to think of it, after seeing how they handled MAG i'm pretty confident Socom is gonna be teh roxorz!

Considering the last SOCOM was a steaming pile, I hope they get it right this time. I've always been interested in the series since I like Counter-Strike inspired games, but it always seems like SOCOM ends up having technical issues that only the series purists can tolerate.

@ amtalx - i've gotta stand up for confrontation here. Sure it launched broken and half finished in the US.

But by the time it was launched in the UK it was a finished, polished, superb hardcore shooter game. (it was many months later)

Such a shame that the US release and all it's problems destroyed the games reputation and dirtied the whole franchise. If you or anyone still has it i'd suggest throwing it back in the PS3 and getting the latest update - it's actually pretty damn good.

Used to play Clan matches on there, and it was pretty frickin awesome if balls-hard.

man i loved me the socom 1-2. i enjoyed playing the single player alot, but also the multi. but im getting tired of multiplayer. give me a good single player shooter for once.

From the SOCOM 4 boards, it does seem like a lot of people almost have more interest in an HD remake of SOCOM 2. I wonder if they're maybe considering bundling them to increase sales of SOCOM 4 (or if the huge interest in the remake has them reconsidering some of the directions SOCOM 4 was headed in)??
