Oh? Did you not hear the news? Earlier this week, the Coca-Cola Company elected Bobby Kotick as a Director of the Company. Coke CEO Muhtar Kent believes that Kotick's experience in the digital avenue will help grow the business. Well... that kinda came out of the blue, no?
This doesn't mean he's leaving Activision, however -- he remains the company's CEO. But given Kotick's shrewd business tactics, you have to wonder how this new role will affect the development of key Activision IPs. Will we be seeing aggressive cross promotion in the future?
ScrewAttack somehow managed to grab the trailer for the newest Call of Duty before anyone else. I'll leave it up to you to decide if Kotick is unfairly influencing the direction of the series.
Eh, whatever. Never really hated the guy and Im not gonna start hating now either, especially if he's now running the company that fuels my biggest addiction.
It's news stories like this that illustrate, and thus make me lament the fact, that most folks on the management side of things, in the gaming industry, don't give a flying f*** about the hobby.
Can't wait till cans are no longer sold individually, but in portions. Also, when the formula is expires, does this mean that Pepsi will simply repackage the soda under a new, but familiar label?

Apparently pepsi is gearing up for another cola war this coming year (not kidding, check the news), I guess its good for coke to get someone who is as good at slashing and burning as Kotick is on their side for that.
Meh. "Director" of a company doesn't mean much. Unless you're a serious shareholder or a full-time employee, it usually amounts to nothing more than an advisory position.
at first I thought black ops 2 then I thought about who found this screwattack. So I figure it was a joke saying that they were tying to bring back a dead franchise then I though about the whole Coke thing. SO I figure this will be the new dlc for COd franchise for now on. Instead of waiting for your health to recharge you drink a coke and continue the fight.
@Eternal: "Seriously, he is good at his job but so are the people who make 5% (at best) as much as he does but work twice as many hours." What kind of comment is this? I'm sure there are a lot of hard-working people in this world who earn pennies compared to this man, yet I have a hard time believing that running a huge company like Activision is a 9-5 job.
So am I going to get half way through a 20oz bottle of Coke and have to insert money to get the rest? Or maybe they will re-release Coca-Cola every year with something "new" in it?
I'm sorry. But what did kotick actually do? Blizzard are solely behind WOW. Maybe you could argue that he allowed them to develop the game with out pushing them. Call of duty was a massively successful franchise for a long time, how did kotick make it successful?
With out any haters responding, I am genuinely interested in hearing what he has done. Because to me it feels as if he was lucky.
Kottick is such a perfect example of how much of a failure capitalism is. A dumbass with no soul, no creativity but the skill to suck developers dry, like a male, ugly succubus. Fuck, now I'm even more disgusted.
Well, it's been a series of ups and downs (that could have all been avoided if the Auction House was taken down), but Diablo III is now one year old. To celebrate, Blizzard is adding 25 percent extra Magic Find and experience...
