Back in December SNK celebrated the NeoGeo's 20th anniversary by releasing a number of their best titles, including Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, and King of Fighters '94, on PSN. They've recently announced that the 1997 shooter Shock Troopers will be joining the party on PSN in Japan.

Interestingly enough, the title has also been rated for release in Australia (of all places) and, while there's no official word on any other international plans, odds are we'll see it in the States as well. The more NeoGeo, the better.

Don't be alarmed: SNK's Shock Troopers is coming to PS3 and PSP [Joystiq]

Wouldn't Samurai Showdown II be better? Or did they already put that on PSN? That's one of the best fighting game I have ever played. Better than Fatal Fury in my opinion.

Huh, don't think I've played the original. I played a LOT of Shock Troopers 2 though, and it was amazingly fun. It was basically a top-down Metal Slug.

Stone cold classic. Not a huge fan of the sequel but it's worth a play just to hear the female character say "Ready boys?" when you pick her.

Looks like the Ikari Warriors sequel I always wanted. Actually, Victory Road was actually the Ikari Warriors sequel I always wanted, but this looks good too.

I tried to play Ikari in the arcades a few times but could never get used to that weird 8 way spinning stick. Gotta love Clark and Ralph though.

My favorite Neo Geo and "Ikari Warriors" game. I played this at QuakeCon and it still holds up. Love this game! Also, the pixel art is ace -- nobody could top SNK games in the late-90s.

This was a really fun game of its type. Shock Troopers 2 had a cartoony art style.

On a different note: SNK, port Mark of The Wolves to PSN.

Why haven't Lonly Wolf and Terry "The Lone Wolf" Bogard teamed up/fought one another in one of those SNK internal cross-over games yet?
English and bones will be broken with equal reckless disregard.

Thinking of Broken English and bloody overhead shooters, whoever owns the rights to Last Alert these days should bring it over to the PSN before Shock Trooper steals all of its thunder.
