SNK releases 2 arcade classics: Gang Wars, Time Soldiers
This week, two more pre-Neo Geo era arcade classics will come to the PSP and PS3 from SNK. Both Gang Wars and Time Soldiers will be released on the PlayStation Store as Minis, straight from the 1980s to your fancy little future device. Both will be priced at only $2.99. I remember the awesome vertical shooter Time Soldiers well, but I had to look Gang Wars up. It looks like a Final Fight rip with way worse music, but the laughing sound that some of the enemies makes in this attract mode video is totally worth my $3. Sold. Are you picking one of these up later today? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Hahahah Time Soldiers. Everything and everyone blew up into a cloud of smoke when you killed them in that game. Soldiers, cars, cavemen, they were all made of very sensitive smoke bombs. the laughing... the ever present mocking laughter.
I mean if you wear a bright yellow waist jacket you deserve it, but still I used to love Time Soldiers in the arcade -- or maybe in the local sandwich shop. Isn't it basically Ikari warriors with a little bit of sci-fi thrown in? I do like both of those, but Time Soldiers is slightly more interesting, since the enemies and landscapes are more varied. The only thing about both of these games is they really work best with an 8-way rotating joystick. Using shoulder buttons to change the angle of shots is a bit wonky. Yeah. Why did snk release all these titles without analog stick support. That would be as close to arcade authentic as possible. I dont really enjoy playing Ikari with the current setup. Yeah.
