Sleeping Dogs will be ready for an August release
United Front Games' Sleeping Dogs increasingly sounds like something I need to get my hands on. That'll have to wait a few more months, unfortunately -- Square Enix has announced an August 14 release date in North America for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Wasting no time whatsoever, the publisher is also talking up the pre-order incentives for Sleeping Dogs. Amazon has the "Martial Arts" Pack, Best Buy is giving out the "Georges St. Pierre" Pack, and your friendly neighborhood GameStop is offering the "Police Protection" Pack. I lack the energy to get sincerely upset about this practice any more, so there you are. At least they were nice enough to disclose that the digitally distributed PC version will also have its own exclusives. Best Buy: "Georges St. Pierre (GSP)" Pack:
GameStop: "Police Protection" Pack:
Amazon: "Martial Arts" Pack:

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I want to play this game. I'll wait for the "Game of the Year" pack, though. I've been playing a bunch of PSX games lately, and I've gotten used to having the complete game from the get go. So excited to see more of this game, but damn the store exclusives. I want the superman punch AND the Kung Fu. I've just gotta superman punch a monk. The store that lets me do that is one I want to buy from. Definitely going for Amazon. Free release date shipping, no taxes, and I love the Wing Chun decorations for the safehouse. This looks to be the right mixture of realism and extreme entertainment! I'm dying to play this, but methinks this'll get yet another refused classification in Australia. Our stupid r18+ rating doesn't kick in until next year at least... Funny, now that Activision has nothing to do with the game, everyone all of a sudden is looking forward to it. "I lack the energy to get sincerely upset about this practice any more, so there you are."
