Slash as a playable character in Guitar Hero III? Yeah, sure. Why not? photo

If I could've somehow figure out how to get this time machine to work, this story might have been different. It would be about a rock guitarist who, after a long night of drinking Jack Daniels and snorting cocaine out of a suicidal porn star's butt crack, managed to come out of a coma long enough to record an epic solo for a forth coming double album.

These days, the best news I have about guitarist Saul "Slash" Hudson is that he's going to be a playable character in Guitar Hero III. According to the most metal blog on this here metal planet, Metal Injection, Slash will become unlockable after facing him in a one-on-one guitar battle.

So there you have it folks -- the battle lines have been drawn: Guitar Hero III contains Slash as an avatar and Rock Band features singing, drumming, and guitar playing, along with customizable avatars.

What game will you be playing this Fall? I think I'll be playing both, thank you very much.

[Thanks to my homeboy Joe Burling for the tip. Mad love, playa.]

Wow, that’s awesome. Also, it pretty much confirms that there’s gonna be a Guns N' Roses song in Guitar Hero III — what could it be? “November Rain”? “Paradise City”? “Welcome To The Jungle”? “Civil War”? Oh man, I’m creaming myself just thinking about it!

Hm...well, okay, I suppose it could also confirm that there’s a Velvet Revolver song in the game...but I’d be more excited about a GN'R song, so I’ll just focus on that...

In all honesty I just can't get excited about Guitar Hero 3 anymore.

@ bronx:

They've already confirmed a Velvet Revolver song for GH III, I believe.

I'm definitely going to play GH3, but not sure if I'm going to buy it or GameFly it. I'll probably just GameFly it and "keep it" if it's worth it.

My focus is on Rock Band, though.

I mean, Im still going to get GH3 for Sabotage and because Im a huge Guitar Hero nut. But Rock Band is going to make GH3 look like complete and utter shit, even though GH3 will still be great.

I wonder if Slash actually drinks Stolichnaya, or if it's simply a prop...

@sushi111: Um, generally, if there’s an ellipsis in a URL that you post, the link’s not going to work.

Its officially confimed that many Slash songs will be on the game now. He has written an origional piece for the battle, Welcome To The Jungle will be included, and 2 VR tracks (She Builds Quick Machines and one other yet to be released according to Duff)
