Before there was Halo: Reach. Before there was Modern Warfare 2. Before there was any major console first- person shooter, there was GoldenEye 64. The classic Rare game was arguably the one that started the whole craze of FPS games for the consoles, and to this day, I can still play GoldenEye 64 and still enjoy it.
The latest CollegeHumor skit tackles the classic shooter and nails some of those moments EVERYONE experienced. Especially in regards to Oddjob. F*ck that guy.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Thank you, THANK YOU for posting this. Too many kids nowadays with their Halos and Gearses forget where it all started on console.* Also, I ROFL'ed my AO at this vid. Awesome. Perfect Dark just doesn't cut it :[ Where's mah XBLA GoldenEye!?!
Anyone else ever play Terminator in Goldeneye? It's where you give Jaws (Terminator) and the Pilot (T-1000) tons of health and then female scientist (Sarah Connor) and Oddjob (John Connor) low health, then the Terminator has to protect the Connors.
I really shouldn't have laughed as hard as I did at that. The only thing that didn't sit was Oddjob using his hat, which he could only do in one of the EA Bond games (I know, I know...). Like PKAwesome, I still play through GoldenEye on my N64 at least once a year and it puts everything else to shame. PD is an amazing technical achievement and full of innovative tricks but doesn't hang together anywhere near as well as a single-player game.
"I'd never choose the caves!" The number of groans that used to sound whenever someone picked random and that map appeared was unparalleled. Great memories.
God this takes me back LOL. Looking back, I can see myself today having more fun playing GoldenEye right now than MW2 or any other current MW2. Players that have played both will understand why hehehe :D

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

*PC peeps, Wolf3D.
Proximity Mines only Facility.
No, I've never played that or know anybody that has. But that's a brilliant idea!
That's pretty awesome.
I remember playing "Tag" in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 with my friend before they made it a real game type.
It's ironic that the FPS games that influenced future FPS was on a Nintendo system only and today, almost all FPS games are on other consoles.

THIS.
That's all I'm going to say about that.
As long as it didn't involve Oddjob or the Arctic Commando....
super speed
auto-aim off
one-hit kills
pistols
So damn fun.
Shit became a murderous game of billiards.
That was my entire childhood in 7 minuets.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
The Facility always had the most intense fights. All of those choke points and narrow alleys made it a bloodbath.
