Skyward Sword is Nintendo's 'biggest game project ever' photo

Nintendo wants you to know that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be worth the wait, promising that the game will be the company's biggest project to date. Yes, even bigger than Ice Climber!

"This is the biggest project that Nintendo has ever done, videogame wise," said Nintendo of America PR man, David Young. "A gigantic team of people have been creating this game for months, having put tons of hours into it.

"The great thing about Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword is that it's filled with content so as you're going through exploring dungeons from place to place you're going to find tons of different things to explore, see and collect."

Skyward Sword has taken roughly 100,000 years to develop, so I should hope it's been a huge undertaking! The focus on Wii U and NoA's almost total abandonment of the Wii this year has dampened my focus on the game, but my excitement to finally play it is recovering. I imagine I'll be rabid for the thing as we approach its launch.

Is it weird that I'm more excited for Super Mario 3D Land than this? I've just always liked the sprite-based Zeldas more than the polygonal ones (can't say 2D or 3D anymore).

Thats wonderful to hear and I already have it pre-ordered ..... however if they don't get their act together in supporting the Wii, they can kiss my future WiiU sale goodbye.

I personally call bullshit... they touted over and over again that they were going to be making an effort to support the "core gamers" and what do they do ..... abandon their own console.

Ha, Strandii. I thought the same thing. It's like no one has told him anything about this game. Lots of people, tons of hours, tons of things to explore, shitload of content.

I'm really psyched for this. At first I wasn't really digging how it's going to be an actual RPG this time around, with upgrading and repairing equipment and all that, but I think I like the idea now.

I was going to say, "Even bigger than Wii Music?", but then I saw that Jim already made an even better version of the same joke with Ice Climbers. But imagine how funny it would have been had I gotten to say that.

The reason half of us bought a Wii. The first Zelda game made specifically for Wii. Need I say more?

Well I have decided that since this is Nintendo's biggest game coming onto the wii and that I am a huge Nintendo Nerd , and that Nintendo is bringing huge PR into this one game cause the 3DS is not selling well and that maybe the company is at stake and looking for a quick break from the wii crowd,

I have decided not to buy this game cause it no longer fits my needs, I mean where was this stuff 3 years ago when the game catalog was about the same? I am tired of playing Roshambo with Nintendo they can win, but I will take the last whack at their balls and while I understand that it is not the right thing to do I will start pirating and fan translating every game the USA did not get and enjoy them all for FREE, that right FREE

Zelda exists separately from the non-existent games that sadden you so much. It's okay to make a positive statement without pissing all over it first. Is it a British thing to be anti-happy?

I've never care so less about a Zelda game. The franchise has gone trough little to no change at all since Ocarina of Time, when you know that the most original game since OoT is Majora’s Mask and how much it’s overlooked and underrated, I just don't give a crap anymore. Give me voice acting, not dumb exclamations and walls of poorly written text. Give me something else than dungeons, not the eternal trio of wood, fire and water. Give me an interesting villain, not a douchebag with no motivations whatsoever. Give me character development, not a mute gay man-child as dimensional as a piece of paper. Give me atmosphere, not “dark for the sake of being dark”. Give me a coherent design, not a mishmash of anachronistic landscapes. Give me someone I can relate too and that isn’t just an avatar. Show me that you care and why I should care.
Take your stupid timeline and shove it up your ass, Nintendo.

Those organs would have to be high enough quality for me to sell on the black market/to a hospital/to a foreign restaurant. Unless retailers start accepting trade in's on questionably obtained organs.

I mean, maybe they do, I've never asked. iPods and livers are probably worth about the same these days, yeah?

@DarkHarry Seems like someone likes his superficial changes and hasn't read jackshit about this game.

Pick up the latest Game Informer. All the changes they're making to the Zelda is quite impressive.

I can't vouch for the kidney, but the goat's heart is in top condition! The goat seemed to be doing just fine when I took it from him.

One of the livers though kind of suck, but I'm pretty sure you could get a Mac if you barter well enough.

@dirtysock

Then they have failed miserably, "Our old system is a failure so we are abandoning it but buy our new system because its going to be the tits!" is not exactly an attitude that is going to convince me that the WiiU is worthy of my interest or my money.

Where as a decent push on the Wii to show that they aren't just talking out of their asses would have likely cemented my purchase of a WiiU.

..... So far the only thing that the WiiU has show is that it will be on par with the other current gen consoles hardware, which won't help them when the next gen consoles come around. And that it will have the same cookie cutter FPS and non exclusive titles as the other consoles........ that's all well and good but I want decent games not cookiecutter crap I could get anywhere else....
