Bethesda game director Todd Howard has previously spoken about the company's internal speedrun competitions it holds for each of its titles. With The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim rapidly approaching, the company has revealed a new champion: Sam Bernstein from QA.
He critical pathed his way to a main quest completion time of 2:16:10, followed ever so closely by Jeff Browne of Bethesda Game Studios with a time of 2:16:30. As impressive as that is, I'm sure someone from the general public will have an even crazier run shortly after Skyrim's release.
For this achievement, Bernstein was rewarded with a trophy and will be getting a pumpkin pie from Howard. Reminds me of the competitions we used to have here. Our doctors tell us never to do those again.

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I hope.

Welcome to modern gaming.
It's an analogy. It means that rushing through games is kinda dumb, like rushing through your pie is kinda dumb. Just adding that for those folks that didn't catch on too quick.
These speedruns involve cutting corners, speeding through conversations, and completely ignoring anything that goes on in the nature of the game.

On topic, I could do a lot of things in two hours that realistically take me 4, and since I'm either incredibly lazy, or incredibly OCD, the amount of time I spend doing absolutely nothing, or collecting every flower in a given area, will be a 30+ hour experience in it's own right.
If I were there, I'd BUY you that coffee after a win comment like that. Sir or Madam, you win the Internet for today.

Main quests for Bethesda's games really aren't that long, I remember finishing my first playthrough of Fallout 3 fairly quick. I just hope they don't implement the terrible level-scaling from Oblivion for your character.
Also, ONLINE PASS.
Note where I capslock'd and where I didn't.
