Alright, so now I'm convinced that the hip-hop game is for me.

In this latest video leading up to tomorrow's launch of Rockstar's PlayStation Portable music-making title Beaterator, various hip-hop artists sit around and tell us how easy it is to use. We had a chance to play around with it at PAX this year, and it as easy to throw a beat together as they're making it out to be. Fortunately, the software has layers of depth depending on your experience with similar software. I'm pretty sure Justin Timberlake is going to be tapping me to produce his next record instead of Timbaland.

Also, producer Ski Beatz apparently discovers "swing" for the first time using the software.

Beaterator is out tomorrow, and is available on both UMD and as a download on the PlayStation Network.

A lot of good artists in that video, in fact I only found out about how great a producer Ski Beatz is last week because of this beat. Only thing that sucks is Jay Electronica hardly releases material yet he has time to film an ad for a game!

Oh well, with a Pete Rock appearance I'll definitely have to check it out.

for the hAXXORS

PSPseq is not only a tracker-style sequencer but a fully featured software synthesizer, with muthaphukkin probabilistic sequencing! it's probably a fair bit harder to get around, but this free software is fully documented and probably ten times more powerful than this incredibly marketable thing.

Yet another reason a non-CFW'd PSP is technology going tragically unused.

If it's like 10$, I'm in. It's fun to make bad loopable tunes.

I really want to get this but it has a 5.55 FW requirement- untill there is a new CFW option I am not going to buy it, which is sad because I want to support it.

well soul calibur broken destiny requires you to have FW 5.50 official, but some spanish hackers have *not* hacked the config file to *not* allow the game to boot on ANY psp, so really all it will take is someone who knows how to edit code.....

I had to do a double-take with the header image.

It looked like Batman in Arkham Asylum, when he uses that little "door destroying tuner gadget".

I'm still torn about whether to get this on psp or iPhone. I have traxxpad already, but I don't really have iPhone music software, besides 8bitone, and mobilesynth... Hmmm
