We’ve seen the next Lord of the Rings Online expansion through a plethora of tree-filled still images and even via a creepy-old-lay-elf-narrated teaser trailer, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen it all. In fact, judging by that skeleton, a creature with nothing in common with the color green or trees trees, it becomes easier to say that we haven’t seen the half of it.
Earlier this afternoon, Turbine blasted out a new batch of fresh images showing off the Scuttledell region within the "Siege of Mirkwood" content. While there are indeed trees, one also gets a good, solid look at several monsters -- skeletons and Giant Spiders included.
Our resident Tolkien dork took the day off to play around in the local park this, so we can’t identify any of these creatures. But, it doesn’t matter in the scheme of things. "Siege of Mirkwood" is hitting soon -- like, December 1st soon. Prepare MMO, people.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
But, the problem is....... it's an MMO. And I don't have the time nor inclination to submit to just one single game. It's hard to call myself a gamer if I'm only playing one game all the time.
And some of the end game stuff was kind of jankity. Although they fixed that up a tad bit by being able to craft second age weapons.
Why wouldn't this game still be around? I don't get it.
You do on the MMO circuit.
It's always been my experience that the MMO's that you hear the most about have the most problems. LOTRO flies under the radar so much because as far as MMO's go its a pretty solid experience with not too much to complain about. As far as I know I'm still paying for it so I guess I'll be seeing what all the fuss is about with the new expansion pretty soon. I think I even get it free just for having a multi-month subscription plan which is pretty cool of Turbine.
Because I haven't heard much about it...at all...
Anyway, the game looks good, though I like the art style of WOW better
Damn.
