Grinding on books is hard work. In fact, some skaters would argue that it's "totally impossible, bro" -- something about the "ledges" being too thin. But you can rock out on a library's front yard. Or in the case of Skate 3, grind to your heart's content at a university dedicated to skating.
In the most recent "Making of" video for the game the developers educate us on the university setting, which is an open collection of rails, ledges, stairs, banks and an academic skate park. in other words, it's our kind of college. Take your Dante and Milton somewhere else, Liberal Arts. We'll take this junk over that junk any day of the week. (Just kidding; please don't take my degree away kind sirs.)
