Skate 2 'Maloof Money Cup Pack' available on July 9 photo

Today, Electronic Arts announced that on July 9, you’ll be able to download the “Maloof Money Cup Pack” for Skate 2.

I’ll admit, I don’t know what the hell the Maloof Money Cup is, but according to EA, it’s the “largest pursed event” in skating. The real-life event takes place July 10 through July 12, with up to $450,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs. The fake, in-game event can be played both online and off, adding vert and street contests. The prize for Xbox 360 owners is 250 additional achievement points; PlayStation 3 owners appear to only get satisfaction, and maybe some fun.

Whether you get the content for the PS3 or the 360, it’ll cost you -- that’s $3.00 on the PlayStation Network, and 240 MS Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Pretty cool that there's a prize involved (even though 240 MS points is pretty small).
