Take note, everyone: this is how you create a proper developer's diary.

In the embedded video above, we are greeted by EA Black Box's Chris Parry, who proceeds to interview himself about Skate 2's sparkling new storyline.

Essentially, the city of San Vanelona was rebuilt as New San Van after disaster struck during the time between the original Skate and Skate 2. Security has been stepped up by Mongo Co., and now all of the best skating areas are under heavy watch. How convenient.

The general theme of Skate 2 is that of your character's comeback to skating, which is kind of cool, but really, now -- who here plays skateboarding games for their deep, intricate stories?

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways. Not even going to lie, it tried too hard just a bit towards the end.

Regardless, everytime I look into this game, I get a big grin across my face. Good to see Big Black back this time around, and hopefully you get to unlock him just for kicks.

I couldn't care less about a story in a skate. game, but from what I'm seeing it'll be just as entertaining as the first one.

I dunno, this sounds like it could have an interesting effect on the game, kinda full circle from that groaner of a tale that was Tony Hawk's Underground 2, where you're going around the world riding karts and jackhammers and casting (and subsequently undoing) a zombie curse on New Orleans. Skate's whole deal has been Not Being Tony Hawk from the start, though, so no surprise there, I guess.

(Hell, maybe even Tony Hawk's done away with the exponentially increasing zaniness since then, I don't know.)
