EA Black Box's Skate 2 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sooner rather than later -- January 21 to be exact.
It looks like a demo for the game is coming even sooner, at least on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. According to an official Xbox "Download and Win" contest page, a demo is on its way, if the words "Skate 2 Demo Download & Win Sweepstakes" are any indication. And as far as I'm concerned, that's a pretty damned good indication.
No specific date for demo availability is mentioned, but part of entering the contest is "downloading the free Skate 2 demo from Marketplace between 3:01 A.M. ET on January 8 and 11:55 P.M. ET on January 15, 2009." So if I were to place a bet, I'd say the demo will be available by next Thursday at the latest.
Demo or not, I'd probably pick up Skate 2 anyhow. But giving me a little taste a few weeks before release is always a good thing ... unless it's absolutely awful. But given the quality of the first game, that's a bit hard to imagine.
If you can't wait for the Skate 2 demo, check out our hands-on preview from last August.
[Thanks, power-glove!]
You're doing it wrong. It's "Skate 2 demo features people skating, too."
God.
so a demo will hold me over nicely till it gets here :-)

Move along.
Hopefully they will make the flickit tricks more responsive. I've done so many pop.shove.its while I was trying to do 360 flips it's not funny.
Also, I can make a female character! Let's see how a Silent Hill woman looks on a skateboard!
Corky and the Juice Pigs "Skateboard".
Lyrics:
I put a wheel in her right hand
I put a wheel in her left hand
I put a wheel between her legs
I used my Grandma as a skateboard
And we went up and down
And we went 'round and 'round
We did the Alley-Hop, we did the Acid-Drop
Went down a hill and we took a spill
And now Grandma is dead!
