Six new albums revealed for Rock Band 2: RHCP, Megadeth, No Doubt, and more photo

Entertainment Weekly has obtained some juicy details regarding what downloadable content is in store for Rock Band 2. There are six more full albums in the pipeline, all of which should be out by the year's end.

Without further ado, here are the albums: Foo Fighters' "The Colour and the Shape," Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Blood Sugar Sex Magik," Jane's Addiction's "Nothing's Shocking," Megadeth's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying," Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Texas Flood," and a "Best of" No Doubt collection.

Quite an impressive line-up of music, isn't it?

Just in case you had forgotten, all Rock Band 2 DLC will indeed work with the original Rock Band, so if you'd rather save up for these albums instead of getting RB2 when it's released on September 14, that's prefectly acceptable.

Damn, beat me to the punch. Was checking to see if this wasnt on the front page so I post it in the C-Blogs. lol.

Oh well, the news is great. I'm particularly psyched on Megadeth, Foo Fighters, and Chilli Peppers. :D

Of course, my guitar is itching for some SRV, so can't wait to go crazy on his songs.

This is great news indeed.

Peace Sells will be a must buy!
Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a maybe, but I'm not sure how they will be able to include Sir Psycho Sexy. A censored version of the lyrics would pretty much butcher the vocals.

Excellent lineup there. Best part for us PS3 owners is that they work with the original RB, so we can still play 'em even if they're released before the PS3 RB2 release.

Oh, and before a I forget.
@Holyetheline: What does no Radiohead album have to do with men being attracted to men?

Blood Sugar Sex Magic? I must've listened to that about a hundred times when I was 13... Good times. I really hope these albums (especially Sex Magic and Nothing's Shocking) come in clean and explicit flavors. There's no excuse. Peace Sells is good, but I'm not a big No Doubt or Foo Fighters fan. But ah well, a little variety never hurt.

The RHCP album was the first ever that got confiscated by my mom, so it holds a special place in my heart. But isn't "Give it Away" already on RB2's setlist?

And god, I'd kill for some "Hollaback Girl" in Rock Band.

I mean, I know Harmonix is ultimatley a business and are about making a profit...but sometimes it seems like they get off pleasing the fans. I will get at least a handful of tracks off each of these albums.

Reading "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" almost made me cum on myself. Holy shit, that album is so damn good.
Rock Band finally scratched that Funk itch that "Eminence Front" initiated.

This whole announcement is full of win!
